In lots of these routes, you see the characters lives come to an end metaphorically and / or literally. And you wonder "did they really deserve that?" But then you think of the other routes.
Jeffrey is a PoS but he was a minor and called a Pe** (before violating Nicole) and I haven't seen anything to warrant that. Once you throw an accusation like that at someone, I don't pity either or any of them. Well maybe someone here or there, just maybe.
“I know I might seem old to you, but we’re actually not too different” This line kind of makes me think Ms Lynn actually is supposed to represent an older, more mature version of Nicole. I mean they practically look identical
@@jmartin5544if you encourage kylar to jump off the roof theres also later an interaction where she says "you remind me of me when i was younger" or something, but says nicole is smarter, if i remember correctly In the ending where nicole goes to jail in the reup, she actually sorta grows as a person and matures a little over time (though now she has homicidal urges), so someone like nicole can somehow grow out of the behaviour she had, probably what happened to miss lynn
I sometimes like to think Nicole is going to somehow ironically grow into this super wholesome empathic woman counselor that helps kids in ways the adults failed to help her with
@@tuckernutter People who manage to not only survive the fucked up system and circumstances they were born into but grow from it often go into social work. I never got along with counsellors or professionals that didn’t have a good idea of what it’s like to struggle. Obviously you don’t need trauma to be a trauma specialist, but it does give you a special skill set to help understand these cases. The professionals I got along with were maturely but admitted to being fucked up teens full of regrets before cleaning their act. Now their mere existence prevents people from dying. It’s kinda inspiring.
Ironically, Nicole doesn’t actually do much manipulation in this route, besides telling Kylar to make a video of himself destroying the photography studio, which she probably didn’t think he would be dumb enough to actually do.
He was standing on the edge. If you click "Pretend to care so he definitely jumps", she actively tells him to jump so I'm pretty sure she knew. Also, in a conversation with principal Lynn afterwards, she said "i wanted to see what literally anything looked like" so I'm pretty sure she knew he would def jump@@thenotsoamazinggracetnsag3463
I enjoyed this ending in particular because it encapsulates a good rivalry in writing: 2 people who hate each other but also can't help but respect each other, mainly because their nemesis reminds them of themselves, to some extent at least. As an authority figure Lynn hated having a constant problem child like Nicole on her campus, but as a manipulator herself she can't help but respect one when she sees one. Even better is the irony: Lynn ultimately lost her job as a long-bending consequence of her actions; she never stopped her selfish behavior, so she got finished off by someone whose behavior was even MORE selfish.

am i the only one who sees miss lynn as a mother figure for nicole MORE than nicole's mom? their whole dynamic is less toxic than the abusive relationship nicole have with her mom.
Well tbf it’s not like Mrs Lynn is LIVING with Nicole. Like let’s be real if you had a daughter like Nicole and you told her the simplest task of “don’t cause trouble” only to get a call that for the 3rd time a boy offed himself for her it’s like as a parent what is there to say?
@@malayshamorgan3918 tbh with myss lynn saying that nicole reminds her of herself younger makes me wonder if she done as much mental manipulations as nicole in her youth damn prequel dlc about miss lynn would be awesome a shame that class of 09 flipside is the final but at least we have mods
all futures diverge into probably becoming a crack fiend lol. In all seriousness id like to see nicole working a 9-5 or something and shes kinda mellowed out over the years, she'd be 33 this year
Honestly I think it's a tossup between this and the Valedictorian ending for the best. In this, Nicole begins to move past her issues and trauma and hopefully becomes sorta healthy. And in Valedictorian, she gets a real shot at having a good life. She just needs to make her outer appearance match her inner self and stop being a sociopath. This game is basically just trauma + teenager = trainwreck simulator. So any endings where the train can still run decently seem pretty good to me. I wouldn't really count the youtube/settlement endings as the money will dry up and neither she nor Jecka really learn their lesson. Here, they're forced to grow up and get one last chance to be good people, ibstead of OD'ing or sudukuing. Tldr: This is the best ending, heavily ironic for a game such as this. As it means the best ending is the most boring one.
It probably is, in the first game, as it is one of the rare endings in which Nicole goes to Senior year in this school, in which Re:up takes place. And even then, it'd be the only one to not warrant a mention in Re:Up, was it to be canon (Since Kylar is alive, RU-vid Famous and Valedictiorian can't be canon) For Re:Up, most endings where Nicole, Hunter, Jefferey, Karen, Trody, Emily and Lynn are still at school, so it doesn't contradict this ending (since we see them all graduated). This means the prison ending and the pact ending are the only one that can't be canon in Re:Up. Though, because of Miss Lynn talking about Nicole using her looks to manipulate, I feel like Revenge or Lorre are probably the most canon endings of Re:Up
Man Principal Lynn sounds so disempowered and its TRAGIC. It doesn’t matter if the teachers take her seriously or not, their predatory behavior was highly illegal and she would’ve had every right to call the police. They would definitely take the police seriously at least 🤷
bruv wether you were going for the od or to get fucked up in both cases you have much safer options. if you fuck up the od you're gon be fucked up for the rest of your days, or if you dont get pumped in time, it'll be the last time you get fucked up on anything. btw i totally let a joke fly over my head right now didnt i?
@@akasakasvault7597 joke or not this is some really insightful shit. Definitely what I needed to hear as a teen who wanted to fuck up my life to OD. Take care of yourselves peeps
Thats actually not enough to need your stomach pumped but it is enough to make you full schizo for a day or two if you DONT get your stomach pumped (well unless combined with MAOIs or other hard drugs then you usually just die). Anyway dont fuck with deleriants. If you need to get high without breaking the law or causing permanent damage we live in the best time for it.
I don’t get how people say this is a “good” ending. You see a melancholy picture of her with a bottle of drugs on its side and the last thing she talks about is her dad’s suicide? Seems to me it’s implied she kills herself
me too. it's more of a rumination of her past life in high school and the thrills she took from it, but going into adulthood, needing to control her attitude more.oftrn by taking more pills
I feel like this is the true ending of the game, it's unclear what happened to all the characters after they graduated, but what us certain is that Nicole evolves by the end, she realizes that there is some sort of semblance to feminism and how to use that to her advantage. I really love this game and how real (at some points) the characters are, and really want to see more content from this game!
In the ending, while she may be an adult by law, she is technically still a teenager. Hence the word eight-TEEN! She can't call older men pedophiles anymore, but she can at least call them ephebophiles until she turns 20. But what the fuck do I know.
Once you're age of majority, those kinds of arguments lose almost all effectiveness outside of the Internet. Then again, if almost every other older dude she encounters has a chronophilia just like in high school, then she'll hardly be the only one sounding the alarm.
Given the game is in 09, every guy would be like “what does that word mean?” and Nicole would say “only creeps split hairs. its p_____lia or legal, end of story.” Terms like this only entered general vocabulary with the mid 2010’s rise of Tumblr.
Lmao, that reminds me of a comedian joking about knowing too much about the classification of pedophiles and ephebophiles, because it makes him sound like a pedophile trying to defend the difference
Gonna be honest when kylar was trying to go the the pool party it sounded like he genuinely just wanted to go and have fun instead of going oogly boogly at girls with bikinis. Kinda feel bad for him.
Literally nothing you can gleam from it other than cynicism and nihilism. This game feels like it was made completely out of spite. Not sure for what though?
Honestly I think this is potentially her best happy ending in the long term. She doesn't do anything too horrible in this route. The worst thing she does is manipulates Kylar into destroying school property and that works out for her. (Though it's not like that was her plan, and she probably didn't think he'd actually do it or cared if he did it. She just wanted him to fuck off and leave her alone.) And then of course exposing the school staff of being predators and the principal for letting them go unpunished. And her closing monologue you can actually sense a hint of maturity from her. As though she's come to an epthithany that she's kind of fucked up and wants to make some kind of change for the better. I think it's the most hopeful ending for her as a character and that she might be able to grow past the angst teenager bullshit, deal with some of her trauma, and become a better person. Maybe not a good person, but better than the people around her and the person she was.
Nicole: watching your dad suiciding really fucks you up I actually wonder what would happen if how my goddaughter/third cousin that’s a teenager now would react if I were to do the same thing her father did, I bet she hates me and wouldn’t miss me at all. I actually feel like I gave her problems along with everybody else I came across in my life, I guess I can’t blame her for hating me like everyone else, even if she thinks I’m some sort of disgusting creepy evil demon or some pathetic loser of a person
0:21 I can't tell if Nicole genuinely liked that joked or if she was being sarcastic, I think she was being sarcastic because in my opinion that was the worst fucking joke in the whole fucking world.
god, if i were to ever say that shit my school, i would be put in a goddamn white room. (for reference it was a special needs school. i am autistic) Like- i couldn't even say "sucks" fuck that shit..
@@Yanagapa_ nevermind she is slightly insane lol. Karen is the most normal character but if you interact with her she either has serious ED or she becomes a whore. Otherwise she's just normal
