There are 4 vedas:- 1.Rigveda has 1028 hymns called sukta or well said. 2. Samaveda is a collection of songs mostly taken from rigveda. 3. Yajurveda is a collection of sacrificial formulaes 4. Atharvaveda is a collection of songs, spells and magical charms of evil spirits .

There are four vedas....Rig veda, Sama veda, yajur veda, Atharva Veda.....but there's also a fifth veda named as Naalayira Divyaprabandham which is in Tamil language.
