Trying to understand the replacement “cartridges” for the Classen...the one in the video is for dethatching...I understand that...the one from the factory is for general slicing of the soil?..and what other cartridges do they carry and for what purposes?..Thanks so much for the clear and concise video!
Multi-purpose blades: Deep slicing blades for thatch a 1/2” or deeper. Ideal for harder soils. Commonly the standard blade real on overseeders where deeper soil slicing is necessary. The unique design of the blades, with a cutting edge on both ends, doubles the blade life. Vertical slicer blades: Sharpened on both sides, designed to slice through surface root grasses like Bermudagrass. Also exceptional for use as an aerator for sandy soil grasses. Flail blades: Common standard blade used to treat moderate thatch levels. Ideal for deep rooted grasses. Blades both lift thatch and thinly slice soil surface. Spring tines: Ideal for annual thin to moderate thatch control. Pliable tines gently rake through the grass without slicing the soil or causing damage to above ground implements like sprinkler heads.
@@gospos1 Vertical cutting is what I am looking for. Verticutting is done to slice/cut the stolons. The stolons grow horizontally across the ground from the rooted mother plant. The stolon will semi-root and keep going horizontally. Once the Stolon is cut, the grass must root down and grow. Stolons don't have many blades/color. If left un-verticut, the stolons will all grow on top of each other and the lawn will be bumpy. Also when you cut this type of bumpy lawn, the stolons will be exposed and you will have white streaks showing. So verticut your yard about every 4 months. This will allow the grass to spread and root. Then cut those stolons so it must grow shoots and blades. no more bumps and or white streaks. This guy needs to verticut his lawn. Stolons are showing and he has white spots. s22.postimg.cc/4sns48ddt/1_FD4_C374-_FB4_C-4200-8857-49_CFCA88_F604.jpg
Sorry about not responding sooner. The tines seem to be very durable, we haven't broken or bent any. Never used or herd about the mm55, but from the pics classen looks better in quality.
