If you guys ever get around to doing a Me'Shell Ndegeocello single, start with "If That's Your Boyfriend." The queen of jazz/hiphop fusion. Reminder, she's also the bass player and she can do both live.
Old Van Morrison song , yall hear the song on movies. Yall need to see the video to this song! '90s hit and also on the radio. Meshell Ndegeocello is a Germany born African. This isn't her first rodeo when it comes to rock music. She does it, too. Reggae, funk rock, neo-soul, alternative hip hop, etc. Lots of music from her during the '90s and '00s. Plays the bass guitar. She's very versatile. Yall need to check out some of her stuff! Videos/songs like "Is That your Boyfriend?", "Who is He and What is He to You?", "Waterfalls", "Leviticus". Much like JCM, he's folk rock, but has done many other genres, too and over several decades. I'm sure they collaborated well. No discomfort at all, they had fun with it.
Wild NIght is a highly covered song - the original was by Van Morrison in 1971. I remember when it came out - I was 12 and thought it was extra groovy.
I love the album BITTER by MeShell. The song Adam makes me teary eyed everytime I hear it. It actually inspired one of my poems titled "The Shower Isn't Hot Enough" which is about going to yet one more funeral. Eventually, I became tired of seeing another thing of importance slip away and how I do not want to replace things and continue on.
this one takes me back! For more male/female duets check the recent Better Oblivion project.... Sleepwalkin', Little Trouble, My City, Dylan Thomas, Big Black Heart, etc all bangers
Used to listen to Johnny Cougar on a so called underground station show called Beeker Street. Call letters KAAY in Little Rock. And maybe KSHE-95 in STL.
This should 100% be next. Almost all of the big hits they haven't listened to yet are mostly catchy, faster songs. Cherry Bomb is just a nice, mellow groove and still powerful.
And since van morrison sings this song, her voice just does it so much justice, she should do a colab with van Morrison, I think it would be ok with john Mellencamp lol
Hey guys what's up! Greetings from South Florida! Yeah that's her also playing the bass. Like Lex said powerful voice. But really really good bass player to. I liked this the first time I heard it. You guys rock! God bless you! Peace!
Yes there is the studio video and they really get the dance together! not the video with the model. you want the one just the two of them singing and dancing with the band.
Please do "Just Another Day" or "The Full Catastrophe" both by |John Melloncamp from his |Mr. Happy Go Lucky Album. Another great song from the same album is "Life Is Hard". Such an amazing album and you should check out some of his paintings. Really Impressive.
This was a hit back in the '90s. Original song was from Van Morrison. Why would they feel uncomfortable? It's called fusion. Many artists have done fusions over the years, decades. Especially these 2. They are both professionals and have done multiple music styles. Both of them play guitars.
John suffered a heart attack in 1994 when he was 42, the same year as this song. Thank God he survived. Stopped doing drugs, smoking, and got his cholesterol under control. I believe he is now 70 years old. One of my favorite artists.
I was wondering the same as you, Lex. Where have I heard the OOOOH-WEE before? I kept thinking about a sitcom, a comedy movie or SNL. It finally came back to me, it's Kenan Thompson in the What's Up With That? sketch on SNL!😆
Fun version, great hat tip to Van Morrison, but well... Mellencamp dropped this in the nineties, so yeah, his voice sounded older than it does in his earlier hits. Check out the Van Morrison original, then check out Van Morrison "Domino", "Blue Money", and "Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in Heaven When You Smile)" for more in that style.
Hope I’m not commenting to much I play several John M. song this one I never heard except Van M. version. Mixed Up Everything 4 young boys from Australia do amazing covers Black Hole Sun impressed me enough to recommend. Enjoy your reactions! Last night stream was great I didn’t understand all the down comments, the polls pick you just post the most requested. Don’t shoot the messengers, came to mind.✌️
Saw Me'Shell live in Nashville on a side stage during a festival. Very funk type artist, and was the best artist among the side stages! Loved it. Was about the time this song came out, and was the only reason we knew who she was. I don't think she played this song
Her last name is pronounced: In- (or En)-Degg-eeee-O-Cello. I heard someone when this song first came out, I heard them pronounce it and if I hadn't heard it I wouldn't know how to pronounce it either lol
I see a number of references here to the Van Morrison original. I also like it better. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VX2_HahKoe4.html
