There were 2 men that my mother and I "loved.' and they were Johnny Weissmuller and Jimmy Stewart. SHE was born in 1914 and I was born in 1951. ( There were many Saturday afternoon movies when I was a kid/teenager. )

As a kid she ,”took,” the chicken eggs and sold them on the black market so she could see the latest movies. She had mentioned Simone Simon so I was very excited to see this film.

Love James Stewart, but I have to say that "It's A Wonderful Life" has to be one of the worst movies I've ever watched. So depressing.

I have Never seen this great movie that I can remember. Jimmy Stewart's character is complex. He is tough , strong one minute and innocent and shy the next. Confidence Of his future one minute and scared falling in love, of the war being separated the next. HER character played sweet and innocent and when they did the close-ups of her face she looked angelic❤ wonderful movie BRAVO !

Oh,I hope ŵe will never have war,sacrificing our son and daughters,while those who start it will be safe at home and at the end even if someone wins both sides loses and many yrs of rebuilding and burying our died.As well as. Cleaning up all the weapons that are trashed.Great actors and actresses, and the music diffently put you in a state of sentimentality ,the world of innocence and the harsh reality that nothing is what its seems,chivalry at its best.

I hope we never start a draft. For no one should be forced to fight in any war,it's never the solution. It is only profits for those who create weapons until the last men standing.

List of lovely films I've seen in the last few years: Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, Amelie, Ram (about a flock of sheep and the shepherd), Paper Plane, The Red Balloon, Charles Aznavours home movies set to his Parisian songs of the 50's. Etc etc ad infinitum :)

I only had the 1927 version on my collection. It shows all this simplicity and innocence without words. Didn't know this version with James Stewart, either.
