Welcome to my first video on the "Erik's Garage" channel!
In this series of video's I'm going to restore this classic Archimedes/Volvo Penta 40 outboard engine. I don't have a lot of information about this engine, only that is from the 1970's so it is approximately 40-50 years old. It has an aircooled 2-stroke engine with about 60cc and 4 horsepower.
As you can see the engine is in pretty good shape for its age. The first step is to disconnect the engine from the tailpiece. The next step is to take the engine apart in order to inspect all the components and see what has to be replaced. In the next episode I will clean/paint/replace all the parts individually.
