Classic BMW Z3 Coupe! "The Clowns Shoe" Paint Restoration And Protection Series! Part 2!

This is part 2 of a short series restoring the finish of a classic BMW Z3 Coupe nick named "The Clowns Shoe" in Germany. Coupé models entered production in September 1998. The unusual side profile has been given nicknames such as "clown shoe" and "bread van" by critics. In Germany, it has been referred to as a "turnschuh" (sports shoe).
The coupé body style was only produced with six-cylinder engines (2.8, 3.0i, and M Coupé models).
In this series, we will restore the painted surfaces and preserve the finish for years to come. Let's get started!!

Great job, Brian ! I bought one of these new in 2002 - it was the M Coupe' !!! Yes !!! The big 3.2L S54 M3 engine, 6 individual throttle bodies, perfectly balanced, and so Fast !!! It was the same Titanium Silver color.. An absolutely awesome long trip car !!! No speed limiter !!!! It was my Rocket !!!

Great work. I’ve got a silver car and I’m always looking for tips on detailing silver. I have a really hard time finding any scratches or imperfections. I use mostly Griot’s products now. I’ve been really pleased with there products. Keep up the good work.

hi brian what towels do you use for removing ceramic coatings like the ones in this video?

i know this is off topic but im in need of your help and advice.i am having a debate with a work colleague of mine about removing bird lime etching.he says that you can use a heat gun to remove the bird lime completly.however i am of the opinion that doing this will damage and put more stress on the clear coat.i prefer wet sanding and buffing for removing bird lime as i consider this to be much safer if done correctly.

What pads do you recommend for cutting.. Meguires DA? Griots? And what stores or sites. I’m having a hard time finding. I’ve tried a few and like Meguires. But I’m open to suggestions. From anyone too!

I’ve been looking for some new coatings, I think I’ll try this soon. I certainly understand about the hard clear too. One my BMW’s was very hard.

Hey Brian have you had a chance to play with Korrosol yet? I am in LOVE! That thick gel-like formula just clings forever and it is absolutely as powerful as Iron-X. I made only a few oz's go a long way with a good atomized sprayer.
