A very quick look around a few iconic Italian made SWM Classic Twinshock Enduro and scrambles bikes. All of these video clips and pictures were taken at the Telford Classic Dirt Bike Show in 2019/2020.
Nice to see these bikes again. A friend of mine purchased a 370cc SWM crosser brand new in crate around 1982, I had a 400 Maico. We used to race motocross and enduro the SWM had terrible rear suspension it used to buck you off with little warning. Mind you it wasn't helped by the fact we were both rather young and light weight at that time to be riding open class machines (about 15 years old). Don't ask how we managed to ride in enduros that another story!! He finally changed the stock corte cosse shocks for sachs hydrocross units to improve things. The motor was a monster though more than a match for my maico with loads of power from the rotax reed valve engine. a beast of a bike. Great memories.
Ooh how pretty those are and yes, you rarely see them around any more. I also enjoyed hearing about the 175s & their capabilities. I was a little young when the 175cc bikes became popular, a mere 58 years old, hee hee. Another great eye candy post, thanks Chris!
