Classic Game Room reviews BRICKOUT for Intellivision from 1981 with a 2015 copyright! Brickout is like Breakout with bricks on Intellivision instead of space blocks on Atari. Bounce the ball into bricks to break free of aliens in this Breakout clone with some unique hit detection that gives the game a different feel than its more famous rival. I think it's cool how the ball (if that's what you can call it) can get stuck between the blocks and knock out a couple of rows almost instantly.

I know it breaks with the format of Lord Karnage, but it would be interesting to see a timeline of these relatively minimalist arcade type games that have storylines.

As a kid, I was an Atari fanboy and never got an Intellivision. Basically because I already had a huge collection of Atari games and did not want to switch over to another console. I did play on a friend's Intellivision. Never was a huge fan of the disc controller and keypad. I did like the sports games on Intellivision more as they were more realistic at that time compared to Atari.

The only thing to keep the intellevision alive is to squeeze 16bit graphics out of it trough clever programming tricks. This game should,ve better graphics then the atari 2600 version.
