Classic Game Room reviews CHASE H.Q. II for Sega Genesis from Taito, based on the 1988 arcade machine. This racing / combat game is like Outrun mixed with Road Rash where you play a two stage game that requires you to catch up to bad guys and then crash into them until their car catches on fire! Excellent arcade style gameplay is marred by a somewhat sloppy and jerky presentation on the capable Sega Genesis, yet driving game fans should still check this one out. Chase HQ 2 is the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis version of Chase HQ with three playable vehicles and chunky 16-bit graphics. Controls work well but the arcade machine is the best version of this game to play. Chase HQ is also available for Sega Master System, SNES, Turbografx-16 and Commodore 64. It took me over 20 goddamn years to find out the title of this game. I played it randomly back in the day and never actually read the title. I loved it but Sonic and Mortal Kombat were life. I watch a random Guru Larry video where he quickly mentions the title and shows a quick snippet. I randomly pick your video after a search and confirmed it's the same game. Thank you for confirming and concluding my search (since the early years of Google I'd search semitruck cop Genesis game).

I remember having a Chase HQ arcade machine in a confectionery near. I loved the look of it but only played it one. It was awesome!

They have the arcade version of chase hq on one of the japanese versions of the taito legends game compilations called taito memories. The u.s. volumes of taito legends only released in 2 volumes called taito legends 1 and 2, japan on the other hand recieved taito memories 1,2,3, and 4 and thus had a lot more games.Unless you have a mod chipped ps2 capable of playing imports the only other way to play the arcade version of chase hq is through mame. I remember this in arcades years ago,very fun.

It's also on the Saturn, along with with S.C.I. on the same disc. The problem? The continues are limited, and Chase HQ on the thing is not nearly as good as the arcade, while S.C.I. came out a bit better. That, and it too is a Japanese release.

I played the original Chase HQ Arcade machine back in the day....you're right about it being the best. Can't beat the feeling of the rumble during impact as you try to run those criminal scum down. No doubt my favorite arcade driving game.

I think the Chase HQ 2 should be on Taitio Legends HD for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. The four wheel drive SUV and the Semi truck are the ones I choose as tough vehicles. I did not know the semi truck can reach near 200 m.p.h. Perhaps a 1600hp diesel engine might be the help.

Sometimes, the vehicules you have to stop, attempt to kill you using weapons like pistols or RPGs, and thats while i couldn`t finish it.

Chase hq 2 came out for the saturn, and was a close arcade port, it only came out in japan, and has japense speech.

@timmyboy920 most of these retro items are not that expensive at all. I too am a retro collector and have been gaming since the NES was born in 86. You can pick up a Sega Genesis complete for 30-40 bucks and the games are really cheap. Games like this are only a couple bucks at the most. Great for us retro collectors.

I had first one on the spectrum zx, and would take like half hour to load (thats if it didn't crash without warning), If you like this you should try a game called Ray Tracers.

Quite a coincidence but I was looking into the Chase HQ series yesterday. It's a great series but this game looks boring compared to Ray Tracers on the PS1. I'd recommend Ray Tracers on the PS1, that game looks insanely fun.
