Just picked up an original Xbox at a thrift store for $5 and somebody left this game in it. Game looks pretty alright. Sounds like a pretty good value, just gotta get some AV cables.
Had this game for a while now, rescued a beat up neglected p.s. 2 from a friend of my nephew's, and remembered seeing this in a store, looked on Ebay and found a good copy for cheap, as a Corvette fanatic and owner of a 1993 Quasar Blue Metallic Lt-1 Corvette, i absolutely love being able to play my Vette in a video game, fun little game
I just picked up a PS2 slim that came with a box of games and this was in here, I never played this one when it came out, now I might have to give it a try!
I still have this (thank God), and now that I think about it, the physics model reminds me of Ace Driver, Namco's sister arcade game to their System 22 Ridge Racer games, only with F-1 cars. Also, the soundtrack is rocking! There's a guy with a whole playlist uploaded here.
This is exactly why I like Classic Game Room, you learn things, Mark goes off on a tangent but it was enjoyable hearing him talk about movies and things that aren't about the game. I know you would obviously click this review to hear about the game but you hear about the game and MORE!
This game is a certified hood classic, and so is its soundtrack. Y’all need to check out the soundtrack on RU-vid, it’ll sell the game to you. One of the best budget racing games ever made
Anyone here know where i can find the song in the background at 2:59 in this vid? been scouring the interwebz for years lookin, any help would be appreciated, thx
I'm glad they went back to the older intro, tbh that record scratching in the beginning of alot of reviews would always throw me off and make me uncomfortable
Love this game. Mom's ex-boyfriend gave me the PS2 and Xbox versions that beloged to his son *he died two years ago :(* and this is one of my favorite racing games ever.
daamn mayne i love dis game mayne dis is 1 o da best gamez dat u can buy . reminiscin when i used 2 play dis wit ma peeps : Nick, Joe, Bubba and Ray. we had such a blast . big shoutout from ATL peace out mayne. god bless ya
Even though this game is an arcade style racer, it made me miss the times of the more simulation style Need for Speed games such as NFS Porsche Unleashed, which is similar to this game. It has a retrospective of Porsches all the way from the 60's to the year 2000. Great game. Mark should try to get a hold of the PC version since it's the best version and do a review.
I think I got mine in a bundle that also had Super Trucks Racing and Power Drome... also good racing games, but for STR you'd have to like the idea of racing with a heavily modified semi truck... which is badass on paper, but I feel like it could be done better with the current consoles
I just got STR, and I played it once to try it out, and I think I might try it further. Btw which truck would you recommend for a beginner? I have no idea what I’m doing
I have the other budget CORVETTE game for the PS2, CORVETTE EVOLUTION GT, though it's really a multi-license racing sim that had the CORVETTE name slapped on for the North American release so it'd sell better. Maybe I'll pick this one up when I also buy R RACING EVOLUTION reviewed a few weeks ago.
Me and my brothers have a special technique for games like this (you never need to brake) its called "ride the wall" just gun it into every corner hoping there's a car there to serve as your brake, if not, just use the wall, it's quite effective
I can't believe no one has released a Geo Drag Racer game. Imagine going as fast as you can until your car breaks down because you start hitting highway speeds.
Tracks look really good and original. Has that retro good look. Lots of Vettes. Good garage. Tasteful music. Remake this in HD and release it on PSN/XBLA and gimme some funny trophies.
Arcade is just a way of saying "unrealistic" in racing, but in general it means a game that's easy to pick up and play for quick sessions, but hard to master.
I want to see a Delorean racing game featuring the Delorean along with the BTTF Delorean and.... uh..... well, I guess two cars is all you really need for a racing game anyway, right?
