Whether you needed power for small jogs on the farm, in the garden or around the home, the Economy tractor was not a bad choice back in the 1940s. Economy tractors were built by Engineering Products Company (EPCO) of Wisconsin. Bill and Venita Cunningham of Indiana shared the story of their early Economy -- cable steer tractor when we visited with them at the Garden Tractor Extravaganza on the grounds of the Southern Indiana Antique Machinery Show (SIAM).

Talk about basic. At least my plastic fantastic MTD starts via key and battery. Imagine telling a recently returned Veteran that garden tractors would one day use a Japanese Kawasaki engine.
