Mark De Vries scored four times on his home debut as Hearts thrashed Hibernian 5-1 in a SPL classic at Tynecastle. Andy Kirk had already opened the scoring for Craig Levein's men when De Vries notched his first strike just before half time but Ian Murray's goal on 51 minutes appeared to have brought Hibs back into the match. It proved to be a false dawn, however, as De Vries fired another three goals, including two in injury time, to seal a famous win and book his place in SPL history.
