I'd like to see you install the LED bulbs. We tried to do that job awhile back. The bulbs we had wouldn't go in to the stock housing. Also kinda bummed you opted out of using the cool little parking lamps.
I replaced the ones on my Mk1 last year and they are almost completely different! You assume all minis are the same until you start buying parts. Mine has 3 adjusting screws to aim the beam and I found it much easier to twist and remove the headlight and chrome ring assembly as one piece and swap the headlight on the bench.
To handle the power needs in my 62 mini van, I put in duel batteries, but to keep them fully charges is there a certain alternator size, I should look for ? do you guys know of a small alternator that will work 800 cca red top main starting, blue top deep cell back up regards
Look at a shop that sells off-road or racing parts, dual batteries are common in the jeep (or outlander) and racing world, in 1991 Japanese model, which I have, they added AC so that alternator is 70 or 80 amps, it should be way better than the mk1 50amp, good look
advice please: 1989 Austin Rover: My headlights and dash lights stopped working all the sudden. No fuses broken that I can see. Any thoughts? I love your vides. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thanks guys. I found two wires not connected to the fuse box. One of them was for the lights. The other wire now is making a "EXT" indicator light up; however, I have no idea what that is for. It looks like an aftermarket item to the right of my wheel attached to the bottom of my dash. Any ideas?
@@TRSWOODWORKING all wires to the headlights are also connected on top of the grill, (right where you open your hood or bonnet) depending what you call it, those butt connectors are also for your daytime lights, it’s an old car and it seems like things are lose or a little rusty , good luck 👍🏽
@@eduardodedios8213 Appreciate it. I fixed it awhile ago by taking the entire fuse box off of the firewall and cleaning the back of it. It was very rusty. I put it back on and boom, lights fixed:)
Nice video, the LED lights sadly make the Mini have an „ugly face“ as the „eyes“ look strange. Additionally they are not roadlegal in most european countries.
Have a look at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XNZT6QqHHOo.html where they test 12 7" LEDs and explain Lunimance and lux (then compare each one)
