Thinking of Bill Bailey makes me think of your pilots.. He's in a show called Black Books which is hilarious and I think you'd love it.. Its a shame you're not watching that
wrong. The osteotome chainsaw wasn't a devide for childbirth, but for amputations and cutting bones. The item used for childbirths wasn't a chainsaw, it was simply a cutting chain attacked to 2 handles. It was a manual hand chain.
no the chainsaw was invented for amputations and cutting bones, a earlier version and the osteotome. The item used for childbirth was just a simple cutting chain attacked to 2 handles. Wasn't the same thing, and it wasn't a chainsaw.
The blood eagle was most likely never done in real life. AFAIK, it is not even medically possible to keep them alive that long after all the brutality involved. Same as the Brazen Bull, most likely never used. Also, Iron Maiden belongs to that group, they were terror weapons used to scare people but never actually used. Also also.. inquisition was much less cruel than many think, at least in Spain. In Netherlands.. they took it a bit further when it was occupied by Spanish but it is debatable if those were the "real" inquisition as they were 100% politically motivated. But in total, only couple of percents of people inquisited were executed, and even less were tortured. In fact, many WANTED to be tried by the inquisition as there was a rule that if you were found to be persecuted, harassed or the person reporting them had a personal grief, they were let go free. Now... the things that happened outside spain, there are some freaking gruesome things made in the name of the inquisition but if we look at the events, they used inquisition as an excuse, the trials were hastily done, with no defense allowed and people were executed en masse for being heretic just for living in the wrong town...
As a fellow James May fan I can highly recommend the Amazon Prime show James May: Our Man In Japan. If you type: James May Bim in the youtube searchbar you can see a hilarious clip from the show. It would be interesting if you could react to the QI episodes themed around spying: Espionage and Secrets, Spies & Sleuths, and compare them. Espionage is one of my all time favourite episodes.
I'm also a Clarkson fan. Also as a James May fan a show you might like, if you can find it, is James May's Man Lab. I loved that show, it ran for a few series while he was still doing Top Gear.
I too am a James May fan. As has been mentioned a few times in the comments James May: Our Man in Japan is worth a watch. Educational and very funny. Episode 4 is particularly funny. As James struggles with his tiny robot guide, who addresses him as Bim. And I see that he has a new series launching on 15th July 2022, Our Man In Italy. Looking forward to watching that. Both on Amazon Prime. And he's already said that he's hoping to do many more
Agree with you about jezza he's very much Marmite but personally I think he's brilliant, try out Clarksons farm,it maybe a bit long to react to but it's fantastic,it's something no-one would expect JC to do but obviously he does and its top notch entertainment,I could watch cheerful Charlie,Caleb and Gerald all day long plus it shines a light on how difficult life is for the average farmer here in the UK,can't wait for series2
