In this video, we'll take a look at the new "Classic Rock" expansion pack for EZDrummer 2. It was recorded by legendary engineer Eddie Kramer at Air Studios in London. Eddie is known for work with Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
There are 2 kits in this pack that I'll be comparing to my other expansion packs-Big Rock Drums, Vintage Kit and Modern Kit.
EZdrummer is a big part of my creative process when I'm putting together song demos. I highly recommend checking it out!

Anyone else tried this pack yet? What packs are using from Toontrack?

i have a lof of EZX i really don't know why they go on like that with the vintage sounds ezd 2 vintage sounds great ezx seventies rock can sound very good especially for the toms ezx classic rock : not sure, it may not sound bright enough (vs Nashille eZX and ezd2) and i don' t like dark tones ezx big rock can do the job but with a strange dark old sound i have more than 20 EZX

Phenix returns I was going to get Nasheville next but then this came out. I agree Vintage sounds very good. Is there anything you’d like to see them do next?

For those triggering electronic drum kits this one is my favorite especially if you want to play along to Zeppelin it's amazing articulation is fantastic

Those Big Rock drums are great...my most used set. Glad you demoed the Kramer/Bonham drums-I was curious about them.

@@ArloTarr I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with them. I'll have a video on the TopHat Rialto Reverb in a couple of days. I've been playing TopHats for a long time and got to borrow this one...sounds amazing. :)

Dude! This video was a great find. I've currently been using the ez2 vintage kit, but was looking to buy either the classic rock or big rock drums pack. so this video has been a great help. Cheers.

I think it’s time to upgrade to EZ3 or SD3. They both have windows and the graphics look much more like a standard drum view.

Yeah I love EZDrummer 3. Just got the Indie Folk kit. They have a really awesome Ludwig Tape preset. I’m using it on a Zep cover I’m doing right now.

@@ArloTarr Looks like it. Just getting started with drum programming (after 30 years on guitar), and videos like this give me a great idea of what to expect. Looking forward to checking out your other vids.

I’ve only been using the classic rock kit since I got it. I started a new song last week and it sounded perfect for the song right off the bat. I like using this kit w/Doom midi. I’m not writing doom songs. That combo just works well for the music I’m writing now. I’ll play some of this song on my next Sunday Jam.

@@ArloTarr yeah I know what you mean, It sounds killer indeed. I won't use for classic rock though, I just like this sound with many different styles. I also plan on getting a midi pack and I may go with the alt rock. Do you think this one could work better than the big drums for a soundgarden kinda vibe? I was told some packs are 16bits while the more recent ones are 24 bits I hope big drums is in 24 bits...

@@gonebymidnight2881 if I was going for a Soundgarden feel, I think I’d still pick my classic rock kit. Maybe I’ll do a shootout on that. I’m also going to start live-streaming from my home studio. Maybe that’s a good spot for a shoot out.

I almost always founded the preset sounds from any EZ drummer pack useless. So I start with the original mix setting

Now that I have the standard, big rock drums and classic, I’m done for awhile. Snares/percussion might be good in future but I’ve got more than enough options right now. Thx for checking out my video!

Arlo Tarr yes, it's easy to get lost in a sea of choices. I've been trying to figure how to replace a snare sound with a rim shot, can you shed any light on that please?

I have the Legacy of Rock SDX. I'm starting to realize that I like the EZX more.

@@ArloTarr I like the overall mix better. I'm not a drummer and I like that the EZX's are premixed. In this case, I like the presets better than the ones in the SDX. I listened to Toontracks Classic Rock walkthrough and my first thought was "Damn, I should have bought that one instead." Plus, the midi from the Classic Rock EZX was specifically created to go along with the Classic Rock EBX.
