The craziest part is that there would be people lined up on the sides of the road to watch the race, so if you crashed, there was always the potential for a lot of casualties :O

I don't know what is worse. racing around this track, or crashing on this track and having the long walk back to the pits. What do you think?

I reckon this could work as a decent series Follow the F1 calendar and do hotlaps/races around the classic versions of the tracks in modern/classic cars. Maybe do a face off against other youtubers or give a bit of a history lesson about some classic races while you're at it (History with Benjamin :)) Even some of the newer tracks have "classic" layouts like Singapore with the old chicane or the long 2010 version of Bahrain.

There is a version of this track were you go left, that's why the map was showing you that. Also in that version, at the end of eau rouge, you also go left instead towards Radillion.

I love retro spa on Project Cars 2. By far one of the most fun historic tracks.

I was in Belgium in November and drove this circuit in my hire car. Such a cool track

Good fun with 60s hard grooved tyres and steel brakes, you have to drive seeing into the future, braking and moving toward apex before you even see there is a corner approaching. Once you get the rhythm it’s really a lot of fun! It only took me about 20 laps to only crash on every other lap! Can you imagine those guys racing with their lives on the line every moment of the race? It is really mind boggling. Especially with the Lotus and Chapman’s penchant for reducing weight by reducing suspension strength and part longevity.

Ben: It's better when you have to brake for the corners. Also Ben: Proceeds to not braking for the next couple of corners and flying into the shadow realm

5:42 IRL, this would've been a scene straight off Kerbal Space Program... at least until you crash land a couple miles away from the track and explode into a million pieces.

Ben, one thing I noticed when you were driving the Lotus 49 was that you weren't engine braking enough for slow and medium-speed corners. The thing you have to remember with the classic cars is you're on bias-ply tires with 1960s (ie crap) brakes. I would try braking and in particular lifting and downshifting a lot earlier than you're used to with modern cars. Hope this helps for next time.

I've been racing in Lotus 49s in sim racing for many years, it's my go to car in any sim that has it in its roster.

I recommend you try a game called Grand Prix Legends by Sierra Sports; that game is an incredible challenge, there are some great classic tracks =) The game is from 1998, so finding suitable equipment to play that, but it would be fantastic to see some really old school F1 games 👍🏼

I've found out that on ac classic f1 cars are way easier on higher degrees of rotation, unlike modern f1 cars

You should try the Gran Prix Legends Mod for the 67 season cars it has all of them and they are as good as stock content
