Jeez, this format was horrible. Didn't show the full performances, and even when they did, half of the time the camera was more focused on their faces rather than the actual shots. Good thing they cleaned it up later.
It was the first inaugural 3-point contest the NBA had ever had. I agree that it’s a little bit sloppy. I hate that none of us got to see all of Craig Hodges’ 25-point performance. By the following year, they were at least showing the two performers side-by-side on split screen.

Anita Moorhead yes, in 1990, ‘91 and ‘92. Ellis won it in 1989, in between the two three-peat performances. They are still the only ones who have won it 3 years in a row and still the only ones to win it 3 times, overall.
