PLOT: An alien civilisation, which facing eminent extinction, kidnaps two famous genetic scientists from Earth. A troop of soldiers is dispatched to combat the humanoid robots and rescue the victims.
yes, why? :D I think Brandon missed a beat on this. old school sci-fi tended to use "laser"s that are invisible due to how real lasers... actually have very little to let you see them. Star trek and a bunch of more modern sci-fi use flashy beams, but.... old-school used a realism logic for not having that.
I enjoyed this lavish, kitschy, offbeat space opera. The electronic music score was groundbreaking in 1978, something that didn't become a sci-fi staple until the '80s, notably Georgio Moroder's METROPOLIS (1984). Would love to see this underrated gem fully restored in all its colorful glory on Blu-ray some day.
