For a small country, Latvian opera stars are amazing; they are so modest and so talented. Marina Rebeka, Elina Garanca, Kristine Opolais and I feel honoured to see so many wonderful singers in Latvian National Opera.❤
I wonder who these 2 people are who dislike this wonderful interview with the incredibly gifted and so charming Marina. I loved her (and Bryan Hymel's) singing so much, I went to "Guillaume Tell" 8 times last month. And she is a wonderful human being, kind and warm towards her fans, not taking them for granted at all. Bravissimo Marina, I hope you keep on singing for a long, long time!
The dislikes are probably from fans of some other singer. I mean, that's what fans do. They feel a compulsion to do a thumbs-down on anyone who isn't their particular favourite. I had no idea who Marina Rebeka was until an hour ago, when her "Madama Butterfly" was recommended to me. I'll be watching it this evening - and look forward to discovering a new talent! Have a safe and interesting 2022. 🐧
And let’s note that part from being a wonderful soprano, not only as a technician but also as an interpreter, she’s also very modest, not instagram- absorbed as many of her “colleagues” despite the fact that she’s by far on the top 3 right now. And let’s also mention that she seeems to be pretty much fluent in English and Italian too; between other languages!
