Ode to the Lazy Wrap Bun
It's the first "classic" bun I ever learned (in less than 2 minutes back then) and it kind of saved my long hair.
Because I was tired of wearing it down or in a ponytail. And the old "dumplings" with hair ties never held & kind of hurt. Since then, my hair has finally made it above the waist. They just suffer less damage with a haircaring hairstyle....
This updo technique became second nature to me. That is, my hands just do it on their own unless I consciously make plans against it. Still, it never gets boring. It's nicer for the hair anyway if I set it at different heights. And as a halfup (my "hair down") & spacebuns it looks completely different again. And also a big hair sticks & forks collection makes everyday hairstyling more exciting, hihi. 😁
I love this updo so much that I dedicated a follow along video tutorial to it. There I show it once in normal speed & then again step by step with pause images. And seeing it so slowly also helps you as a bun- beginner to understand why the classic updo variations hold so securely. Even in sports, when your phone- tie- dumpling has long since slipped off again.
