A lot of the more modern-styled synthpop feels a lot closer to modern J-pop than the 80s. In particular, All Right by Red Velvet instantly makes me think of a magical girl show.

this is so good !! i usually just put all these genres into 80' synth esque so it was really good to see all the diferences layed out like this. i like that the mv clips arent extreamely long as people tend to do these types of videos, but i do wish they were just a tad bit longer so i can get a better feel of the songs :))

such a great video and content ! I loved that you didn't put very long clips like I usually see in these types of videos. the clips being short made the video much more enjoyable for me and I learned new songs too :)) this video showed up on my fyp just now and I looked at your channel after watching it and I want to say that your style is very aesthetically pleasing and I am a new subscriber

YES, some youtubers like to put each clip over 15 seconds (good for people who like it, of course) but main parts of short clips with more examples give the word a more flexible meaning. and introduce more songs

great take on the topic, i srs don't like when people just categorize anything synth/retro as 80's. there are different genres and eras with different elements and sounds. GOOD JOB!
