Thanks for the video Joe. I just replaced the shift rod bushing yesterday and the old one was completely disintegrated, gone, not there. I was worried that I might need to tear the transaxle out because I could not get 1st gear even with the coupler disconnected. But the bushing did the trick and all is good now. Great video.
Overall, it wasn’t too difficult. Everything came apart fairly easy. That was something I wanted to show in the video this can be done in the driveway with no fancy tools.
Nice '65! I had a '64 same color first car in '75. Now have '64 sunroof in white. Battery on left? Interesting. Exactly the correct tires and wheels. Super!
Thanks! That’s an awesome first car to have. Those would be great memories! When I recorded myself working inside the car with my front facing camera phone, everything was reversed, even me using the screwdriver is reversed. Not sure why it did that, but the battery is on the right.
When I recorded myself working in the back, I used my front facing camera phone, and it recorded everything backwards. It even shows the battery on the wrong side of the bug not sure why it did that.
