Something a little different from the videos I usually put together... Here are some of my favourite bloopers/outtakes from the Warner Bros. archives. Stars fluffing their lines include Errol Flynn, Bette Davis, Ann Sheridan & Olivia de Havilland (what a potty mouth for such an elegant lady!) Enjoy!

I'm sure if there was color it wouldnt be as elegant as its perceived to be, we are not accustomed to watching black and white, the usual color we see in movies today is deeply rooted in our own experience and culture but the unfamiliar bland color in old films induces a feeling of elegance and class which is so unlike the culture we are used to in our present time.

Would be interesting to have seen some of these outtakes from color films, such as Robin Hood, but not all the footage that was shot for these movies ever made it as far as being printed in color (Technicolor in this case)---it was too costly and time-consuming, so only selected takes were eventually printed in color---tho you may be well aware of that. I've seen quite a few bloopers from these old films over the decades. If I recall, it seems that most of them were from Warner Brothers films. They must have had fun screening these. That's my favourite part- and the way Errol just loses it and then the smug look on Bette's face knowing how funny she was haha

So great to see - the legendary actors, always so prim and proper in the movies, had a sense of humor and could be as dirty as anyone IRL. They were humans, just like us.

The line "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" from Gone with the Wind raised a few eyebrows as did Clarke Gable just wearing a vest or singlet in It Happened one Night at the time. Very tame by today’s standards.

Clarke Gable didn't wear a vest in "It happened one night". Some people in the audiences may have been shocked but others followed suit and sales of vests and singlets plummeted.

Olivia de Havilland just died. Hard to believe she lived to be 104. I can't believe the foul language she used. More so than the men. Can't imagine what she was like making Gone With the Wind.

When you look at your history you have to understand that Hollywood back in the 30s and 40s really went through incredibly Great Lengths to maintain a certain type of Perfect Image for their stars (their contract Stars) not like today where they really are and just say anything they wish to say. Back then you had kind of a pristine image that they were trying to show which really just shows how phony Hollywood really was back then and STILL is. It is and always will be the " Land of Make Believe " (which is the whole point ) once you understand that you're not too surprised at seeing these things.

They didn't do any of that on film back then, and now it's constant. Something in between---something that was real without becoming cheap and obnoxious---might be smart. But things very often go to extremes, and I'll be darned (!) to know why.

People cuss, maybe not a lot but everyone is guilty of cussing every now and then. Having some language in a film makes it more realistic.

Maybe more people would swear less if there wasn't so much swearing in the movies. Everyone seems to think it is cool or just can't express themselves using their intellect.
