Classic WoW: Warrior Leveling Guide 2.0 (Talents, Weapon Progression, Rotation, Tips & Tricks) 

For alliance folks; Rolling a Night Elf warrior is a great idea! They get bonus movement speed when dead, which will make your many corpseruns so much easier ;P

To those considering rolling a warrior, remember that you are only as good as the healers keeping you alive. Some general tips for making healers like you: >watch their mana bars in dungeons, don't pull when they are oom >don't run out of their LOS when they are healing you >be aware of the position of the dps, if one of those mongoloids pulls adds, the healer will get aggro from the new mobs fast >make a macro, which announces when you pop your defensive cooldowns >give your healer any extra consumables you might have picked up since you wont need mana potions >compliment your healer when they do a good job >ask your healer if they need help with any quests after the dungeon >hold your healers hand >tell your healer that their dresses look nice >tell them that they are beautiful >take your healers on dates >kiss your healer on the lips >marry your favorite healer

Quick version: 1: make a warrior. 2: die a lot. 3: somehow make it to 60.

You forgot to mention, the best way to lvl a warrior is: find a Priest 😅

Glad you included the Arms level spec. For anyone not looking to speed level I STRONGLY recommend it. Tactical Mastery is amazing for tanking dungeons, and protecting yourself from ganks (switching to defensive/shield when a rogue ganks for example) or even just taunting off an ally who you're partied with in world. Lovely talent. Plus the extra rend damage is really nice with the Hamstring method. I personally disagree with taking improved charge, as I value the extra parry for PvP but maybe that's a bit of overkill. Couple of things id add. Remember warriors can use guns/bows! I strongly recommend picking this up as ranged pulls are very useful whilst levelling since double pulls often mean death! The first time I go to IF I'm always making sure I have 15 silver set aside for Guns and a gun/ammo - but as NE I guess you can get a bow early on Write a list of city trips - levels you want to be training skills, and also a First Aid reference, what level you can get the next bandage, and where the nearest trainer to your zone is. Also (I think) at 125 you need the book from Stromgarde to continue levelling it and 225 I think the next upgrade is a quest starting on Theramore Isle? Either way look that up! Don't fall for the WW Axe meme at level 30 on a fresh server. It's an iconic quest for sure , but requires farming level 37 elementals and a level 40 elite endboss. Without higher ranked players this just isn't going to happen. Sure, you can buy the tokens from the elementals from the AH if you're behind the curve, and beg in chat for help killing the boss...but kiss goodbye to your mount gold! My advice is skip it, and do the Alliance quest in Scarlet Monastery for Bonebiter. Oh! And last of all, since grinding is tough, and slow as a warrior, and you're a tanking class, dungeons are an amazing way to get caught up on exp! Download Atlas and keep an eye on when you have dungeons coming up and gather the quests ahead of time. As a tank you should find groups quickly , and a full quest clear can really push your exp along nicely. As for early tanking tips, pull with a ranged weapon or face pulls on packs (you can charge single mobs and keep the rage in Defensive stance if you levelled arms) use Sunder Armour for threat and Vengeance whenever it is up and tab target. AOE pulls are hard, Demo Shout is the usual go to, but generally tab sunders and revenges, shout and taunt will see you throughe

Truly appreciate this guide. I played prot war to naxx in Vanilla and planned on leveling DW prot again since that is what I did but it is awesome seeing all the work and collaboration you put into this. may try something new and unfamiliar because of this. keep up the awesome work!

There is a point to correct here : the /sit macro wont work on any enrage passiv available it was not a feature in vanilla and was corrected almost instantly it was find out. Only private server keep that bug for conveniante purpose and its confirmed by blues

What a lot of guys forget is that Vanilla WoW was probably most peoples 1st mmorpg and the competitive mindset of min/making, bis items, knowing the meta mindset etc came from private servers/moba games/online competitive scene of gaming. Having the private server mentality of knowing everything, following a certain pattern will affect the true original vanilla experience. For example now when I play online games be it mmorpgs or mobas I always learn the meta and the competitive side of the game firstly. This mindset didnt exist before because it was all about the unknown, forging your own adventure and learning on the way not knowing everything which created a lot of adventurous memories, the true vanilla experience was before the competitive side of mmorpgs/mobas/online gaming in general came into play or when meta awareness wasn't a thing at all. I'm not saying it is the right way to play because you cant go back in time and reverse and erase memory but the true vanilla experience is not just about "no changes" it is also about the innocence of a child stepping into a world not knowing anything about wow/online gaming/competitive gaming/meta game & stepping into the unknown! Im so freaking hyped for classic cya there guys we're going home! :'-) !

Treating your attack speed, as reload speed is helpful. Attack speed implies that you would have to stand in melee range for the full duration of your attack speed, for an attack to trigger. In reality, the stated attack speed is your reload speed, while your true attack speed is instant. Ranged attacks are different however, they actually have an attack speed of 0.5 seconds. Be it ranged attacks from a warrior, Hunters auto attack ability or the usage of a wand.

As a guy who leveled a warrior as a first char in vanilla, it's funny to see how "wrong" I did everything, but I see that specc wise it haven't changed a lot. Will probably do warrior again in classic, start of as tank and convert into DPS/offtank to change things up later. Warrior is so demanding, yet so rewarding.

FYI: The Crescent Staff from the Wailing Caverns quest is one of the best 2h weapons for level 20ish. Huge dps boost from previous weapons and +7stam +7spirit

As leveling on my mage, melee gets very confused for me giving them my int buff, tried to explain it's just courtesy if they're leveling up a weapon skill.

I leveled a Human Female Warrior in Vanilla, and I honestly don't recall having a whole lot of problem unless I got more than 2 mobs on me, but it did take about 5-6 levels to get use to what she was strong and weak as before I was that comfortable. I actually remember getting to the point where I was intentionally pulling 2 mobs at once, because it seemed far more efficient than one at a time. Warrior is definitely a fun class, and a TON OF FUN to tank with... OMG do I miss tanking warrior in Vanilla!

What was the reason for picking up skinning? Maybe I missed it. Is it just for gold generation? Thanks for the guide

How does the Hamstring Method work in areas with a lot of mobs? It seems like it would be really easy to Hamstring one enemy, strafe in one direction and aggro another mob I couldn't see.

Improved Overpower in arms is the absolute god talent for fast levelling warrior. Yes it's RNG but with duel wield it doubles your enemy's chance to dodge, it's practically a guaranteed crit with huge bonus damage, near 1 shotting most standard mobs and combos perfectly with deep wounds and impale, the bleed finishing off normal mobs and overall incredible damage for elites too. Keeps you an exciting levelling proc and if you use 2h the numbers are massive.

The /sit stuff apparently won't be working in classic, will you update this guide to reflect that?

How much do you tip mage for food in vanilla wow? I'm just trying to get an idea of the Market since everything is lower in price due to the product of the environment. Also level skinning as fast as possible and not mining/BS combo?

I can't believe I am so pumped for WoW Classic! So many quality-of-life improvements I am going to miss from the current live game, lots of grinding, bugs etc but the fundamentals are incredible in Vanilla compared to the current expansion (or almost any other expansion, for that matter).

Sitting while being crit does not proc enrage in Classic WoW, that was just a private server bug

Love the guide! One thing to point out - that I didn't see anyone in the comments do already - is that in your weapon progression you have Large Axe for level 4 characters however, you cannot unlock two handed until level 10! Great guide besides that though :)

Great video, would have helped me a lot when I leveled a warrior to 60 on the last private server I was on. One thing I did regarding spirit was to use the addon outfitter to put on high spirit gear between pulls out of combat. This obviously wouldn't work though when doing bloodcraze + bandage but worked very well for eating food.

Thunderclap's duration increase is really good for fighting/tanking multiple mobs. You're taking less damage from every target.

since sit spam will not be avaiable in classic would i have to change the points in Fury to something else?

after i sit, and get critical my blood craze does not pop up. but when i get crit a random moment, i have the blood craze. plz help

can we get an update to this guide seeing as Devs have confirmed that sitting in combat wont cause procs? I feel like this changes the play style that this guide suggests and might require some changes to talents.

Hey! Great guide, but there's a misconception in there regarding the Anger Management talent. I believe Monkeynews used the exact same wording, so you might have got it from him, but there is no "hidden passive in addition to 30% slower rage decay". They wanted 30% slower rage decay outside of combat, and simply implemented this as 1 rage per 3 seconds, permanently. In combat, and out of combat. Effectively, when in combat, that 1 rage/3 sec is pure, passive rage generation. And, effectively, outside of combat, that 1 rage/3 sec slows down the regular, passive rage decay by negating it by 1 rage point per 3 seconds. You explain this talent as if there are two effects in it, but there is only one single, super simple effect to the talent, that simply ends up having a seemingly different effect inside and out of combat. Of course, the wording of the talent does not reflect this very well, though.

"dont just use your heroic strikes" I think you forgot about true vanilla times my friend...one of the main issues and sayings on the forums was, "Not enough rage." lol

The sit macro isn't going to work in classic. They announced that pretty early on. You won't be able to force enrage triggers in classic.

Would you recommend the fury then arms for the occasional dungeon tanking as well? Am considering switching to arms at level 34 for sweeping + whirlwind, for example. 2. Why is thunder clap only recommended for fast hitting mobs?

I downloaded the swingtimer addon that you suggested, but its not showing up when I log in to WoW. I installed it in the correct place (World of Warcraft 1.12\Interface\AddOns) and when I go to the folder, I can see the files there. But It's not showing in game, not even in the addon menu on character page. Any suggestions?

Warriors are tricky to level solo, but if you know what you're doing you gain so much importance as you join a group and everyone is gonna love you, kinda like priests.

/sit macro did not work in 1.12 and will not work when classic is released.

I saw a source say that your /sit macro will not allow you to get auto-crit in classic like it did in vanilla. Making those take-a-crit talent synergies in fury less reliable, and thusly, almost useless to take. I realize when this video was made, and that the classic beta basically just dropped... but just saying, you might need to update on that, or at least acknowledge the change so that people don't follow this and take near-useless talents.
