as a student cellist who has been at it for 6 years, i'm going to be fair and say it's quite accurate for an actor. sure, they kind of messed up with the fingerings and the pizzicato part, but it's not that bad. jenna ortega is ok.
One of the best bow instrument clip i've ever seen by an actor! She did a really good job in "paint it, black". It's even a fun piece to play, i'm studying it with the violin i didn't play for a bit more than a year, and i find it perfect for re-starting because it's not too hard, but it comprehends a lot of techniques and bow strokes. Ps. I'watching all of your contents, dont have a teacher at the moments and the youtube videos are helping me so much! (Sorry for my english if it's not perfect, i'm Italian)
I am a violinist, and I was really impressed with her mimicking (for paint it back at least.) Apparently she actually took some beginner cello lessons before filming to make it more realistic.
I've been a guitarist for 24 years but I always wanted to learn the harp Not a violinist but I love classical instruments especially string instruments
I tested vivandi winter part on my cello and copied her fingering and it sounded like it so I would say Jenna Ortega May have played it. Unless it was still she didn’t play it but I think she played it ❤
No. She spent the entire time in fake thumb position when the actual recording artist was clearly in first on multiple occasions, sometimes on a register that is not even available in thumb position. Good for her for putting in the time, let’s not forget to credit the actual artists involved here.
Ortega took lessons for 3 months just on this song. She’s not playing on the recording, that’s Finnish cello quartet Apocalyptica. But those big stretches are possible, there’s a RU-vid cellist that does it. Look her up.
