Karina’s parts are my favorites throughout this song. She just adds such a nice layer to the song, and I still can’t get tired of her “We them girls” at the end 🥰 so pleasing to hear!
Although I understand that he might feel as though a dubstep sound sounds familiar, it also sounds hectic and adds so much to this song. It's perfect for it. It hit so hard and the riffage is hot af. Do you know what else sounds familiar? Electric guitars. And they still sound good because they will always sound good, just like this sound. Some sounds come and go, and some are stayers. And that sound in a killer riff will always be fire, and this is fire, baby.
Moood cuz at first I thought it didn't stand a chance against Savage which I'm OBSESSED with but somehow I'm now officially addicted and I listen to girls at least 3 times a day. It's literally insanely good
I wish people had appreciated this more when it came out (me included) cause it obviously fits really well into their storyline, like the whole concept of this song and music video all matched really well and so in that way it's really really solid, like really good work to whoever was doing all this stuff :) I think the only reason it didn't hit was lots of the people were coming to this one hoping for more 'aespa' which is the stuff they've gotten used to and really hooked onto from the past three title tracks and especially since the last one was savage which I think has been the height of the 'aespaness' thus far. I definitely just wasn't that interested when I first heard it, but listening to it again after a while and trying to put myself in more of a spectator position rather than a fan or something, it was really solid. I haven't mentioned the actual composers and producers for this song yet and obviously that is the most important part so well done.
For me AESPA are still at the forefront of musical innovation in the kpop industry. Each of their comebacks tops the last and I cannot wait for their first full album

Seeee I'm so happy to see this reaction and how much everyone enjoyed it overall. I have to admit, like Kevin I was slightly disappointed at first listen because I wanted more weirdness hahaha but I still really liked it and it grew to love pretty fast. I'm also happy to see all the dance break appreciation because there were definitely some people out there who were just NOT INTO THAT, but it's great. So of course these musicians would appreciate it. Also hooray for all the videos right now! I'm so happy for your channel to have the folks it needs to make this happen, it is so wonderful.
I’m almost 100% certain they sampled from/were inspired by Rob Zombie’s Reload (from the movie The Matrix Reloaded) for the rock guitar section they added in the verses. Adds a whole other level of cyberpunk grittiness 👌🏻

Going into this song I had no idea what to expect cause I feel aespa doesn’t have one specific sound or I just expect them to play with different sounds. Some people were disappointed with Girls but I really liked it and feel as it fits their timeline perfectly, they’re going on battle royale fighting for their lives and this song made me feel as if I was about to go at it too. The first time I listened to it my heart was beating fast lol
It's interesting and also makes me happy to see how reacttothek (also me) like waiting the "weird" part of aespa's song 🤣 Like, I think SM really success to make people starting to love or looking for their unique part (SMP : SM Music Performance) or usually people called it as experimental genre. Girls feels like a song Aespa should've released if they were an experimental 3rd gen group, the issue right now is that they aren't breaking any 4th gen boundaries with it.
the dance break reminds me a lot of one of my favorite kpop albums let’s go to my star by lee jung hyun which is a super cool early kpop album (1999) that the react team should definitely listen to!!!
Very solid song, had a bit of all their good stuff, like catchy adlibs to imitate, gritty multi-layered electro, bombastic vocals... The album confused me, but i do feel as curious and eager for their next release as usual
Kevin, I was also anticipating much wilder song and felt let down. But it grew on me, and I like how it gradually builds hype and how simply beautiful it is. Something similar happened to me with NCT 127's Chain, but that song was way more aggressive in the instrumental part. Now I'm genuinely curious what is happening in modern dubstep, didn't know the genre was evolving.
This is the most normal song they had due to people massive hate to savage. Now they did something normal and people think is not aespa. i hope they get back to their overwhelming sound.

The way she predicted that there was gonna be a dance break. Every other reactor didn't expect that and kinda hate the dance break. But I love it! It felt like it's the peak of their battle with black mamba after a sudden fall over, æspa's best title track wbk!

Futuristic is a misnomer, the dubstep here played into the stereotypical cyberpunk future sound, which is actually ironically retro sounding. So modern dubstep + cyberpunk visuals wouldn't give off the same vibe at all
tbh, i didn't love girls when it first came out? i guess because it didn't feel as crazy maybe as some of the others--like there was fewer weird tonal and key stuff? i guess? maybe? also, i feel like the song is definitely also meant to be experienced visually, like via the mv, because it tells a story and that critical storytelling aspect is lost or diminished when it's consumed one way or another, so maybe that's also why i didn't find myself listening to it a ton. but i definitely think i should go back to it. maybe i just had to sit on it for a while.
This is is actually very easy to listen for me I love it at first listen unlike other aespa songs that threw me off at first But I understand that people got used to that so they're kind of disappointed(?) In this one I love the experimental aespa side
