Thank you for your concern🥰. He has been receiving vocal training since he was 5 years old. He used to be in the music school choir and sang both the female and the male part. I think he knows exactly what he can and can't do. And he's smart and humble enough not to do anything that would be in any way unhealthy for his voice. Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas. The song is very famous and popular in China. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once. The man who raises his fist in the air at the end is Dimash’s father. He came from Kazakhstan to support his son. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional. BTW the audience is also the jury. During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time, I see this performance I forget to breathe. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see that I’m not the only one. It speaks for itself that this performance leads to such emotions that even makes jury members cry. This is so emotional because he literally sang for survival as he was almost voted out on the last episode on Uptown Funk. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio. I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂. What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Especially to Terry Lin. Just for fun, Terry adopted Dimash and Dimash named him Papa Lin. Do not be fooled. Terry is older than he looks. He was 50 years old then. They performed together on stage and sang Dimash’s song Unforgettable Day together. They visit each other when they can and send each other birthday greetings. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

You said if you're not well trained, well Dimash is probably the most highly trained musician you are likely to find. He's had full time musical training since the age of 5, we're not talking a music lesson per week, this was full on half a day every day. He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is just about to finish his PhD. He speaks often on the importance of working regularly with a vocal coach. He was 22 when he did that particular episode, he is now 29 and quite frankly his voice has only improved over time as he's worked hard on his lower register without losing anything from his high range at all.

This song is originally by Russian musician Vitas and it won 114 awards in Russia when it was released. It was insanely popular so many of the audience at this performance knew of the song. In the original Vitas performs one key change... Dimash does THREE! Vitas actually got an order to ban Dimash from ever performing it again. Another fun fact, the man they keep cutting to in the dark is his father, Kanat. Dimash had been feeling homesick and out of place being alone for the first time in a foreign country. His father came to support him but didn't want to add any pressure on him during the competition so he stays hidden until after Dimash finishes singing. There is an extended version of this where you see him spot his dad and it is the sweetest interaction.

Because you are a musician, I highly recommend a totally instrumental video. "River of Love". Dimash is playing the Dombra ( a lute like Kazakh instrument) and his friend, and the composer of this piece, is on the keyboard. There are videos of Dimash playing several different instruments, including the piano, drums, and guitar etc. His won his very first competition for piano at the age of 6. Please do not worry about Dimash's voice, he is highly trained by mega-professionals, and his own self discipline is extraordinary.

He uses mixed voice most of the time, some head voice, even less falsetto and very rare whistle. He is trained well, he knows what and how and he protects his voice. Thank you for your reaction.

Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is a talented artist from Kazakhstan who began his formal training at the age of 5. He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop. Qudaibergen has performed songs in 15 languages and is fluent in Russian and Kazakh while also possessing some proficiency in English and Chinese. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director, and actor, he owns a production company called Dimashali Creative Center. He is 29 years old, 6'3", and a consummate performer and he has a great love and respect for his fans whom he has named DEARS. He has perfect technique and because of his training he is able to do what he does without damaging his voice.

At the age of five, Dimash began to take piano and vocal lessons at the children's studio of Aktobe's Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. He later attended Gymnasium No. 32 in Aktobe. He completed a Broadway Musical master class in 2009. In 2014, he graduated in Classical Music with Major in Vocal (Bel Canto) from the music institute of K. Zhubanov University in Aktobe and began his studies in Contemporary Music (Jazz, Pop) at Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana, where he graduated with Major in Vocal on 27 June 2018. On 18 June 2020, he graduated from the same university with a Master's Degree in Composition by defending his Master's thesis with a perfect score, and receiving a recommendation for admission to doctoral studies in music. Dimash kept his soprano voice from childhood and he has trained to expand his range very carefully. He has recently started to train with rasps and growls and is now adding them to his expression of the music. Many vocal techniques can damage the chords if they're not executed properly and/or over used. Thanks for your reaction, but believe me, Dimash is very well trained, and singing with head voice is very natural for him. He also can sing low, in the second octave. I suggest you the songs Olímpico and Stranger.

Your concern is appreciated - and is absolutely vital advice - for 'normal' singers! 😆But Dimash is not 'young' in training. He has had the benefit of the best classical vocal coaches in the land - continuously - since the age of 5, and continues to have ongoing training + he practices hours per day. He is very conscious of taking great care of his instrument. He's 29 now, so that's almost 25 years already! Also, he's not straining his voice up to those higher registers as much as it might seem, as his vocal chords have been found to be abnormally long ( for a male ). He has developed his upper register carefully and we can see/ hear just how solidly he lands - and stays - up there on perfect pitch, with immaculate control, moving from straight tone to different types of vibrato - as well a crescendo and decrescendo - at will. In recent years he has also been working, not only on his 'Manprano' ! , but also his Baritone, and even dipping into Bass range. He has also trained in contemporary voice, across every genre, musical theatre and many forms of traditional voice as well. Dimash really is in a league of his own. 👍

Opera 2 is sung originally by Vitas. The song is about a man who has built his house but it feels lonely with only the wind for company. This is a cover from a Russian singer named Vitas, who only does 1 key change. Dimash did 3. Thiis s a Russian song. Dimash has been singing for almost 25 years now. He has bel canto training, contemporary singing training, and when he was younger he used to do more whistle singing. I'm not counting this as whistle, I mean 7th octave or higher, but lately he doesn't sing higher than F6. He understands his own voice and he trains his voice everyday for at least 3 hours, with and without voice coaches. Music is his life so I can't see him damaging his tools.

He actually can sing opera and was offered a position at the Astana opera company I believe but turned it down to pursue his own style which is pop opera . Do El Amor En Ti to see more operatic voice. Also his latest, Omir you will see much more of his deeper tone. He does not always use the high register but is well known to do many registers in songs.

Yes he's classically trained since very very young. Literally since he was a kid. Like you and me have studied, he has studies also and a degree etc etc etc. I'll not call him an alien I think it's offensive, but for sure it belongs to the category of people that are rare and appear once in the world from time to time in human species but not in the range of our minuscule lifetime span...

Dimash has been in training since he was 5. His teacher didn't want him to learn falsetto. His mother said he taught himself how to reach these high notes. After he got it to the point he was comfortable with it, he told his teacher and began getting training on it. His teacher also says this. However, he says he knew Dimash was doing it, and he would hear him as he climbed the stairs and would see a flash as Dimash ran to keep from being caught.. He practices 3 hours a day if that makes any difference in protecting his voice. He was invited to join the nationsl(?) opera company of Kazakhstan but turned it down. I have seen a clip of him singing opera where the people largely ignored him. Then, he sang Opera 2, and they ignored that too. Dimash spells his last name Qudaibergen know! Maby a bit easyer to understan how it sounds then. In Russia they ad nov at the end and there it's Qudaibergennov!. In China his first name spells Dimaxi!

Tienes mucha razón en que el abuso de la voz de cabeza podria conllevar con el tiempo a dañar las cuerdas vocales de cualquier artista incluido Dimash, es por eso que si vas adentrandote mas a sus canciones verás la evolución que él ha tenido, en cuanto a técnica y a su aumento en los graves los cuales cada vez los usa mas en sus nuevas canciones, mas que los agudos que aunque el sepa que los puede usar, no abusa de ellos ya para esta época, si ves alguno de sus conciertos verás que la mayoria de sus canciones usa su voz de tenor o voz media.. Hay que acotar que en sus conciertos el canta entre 20 y 25 canciones por lo cual usar la voz de cabeza siempre seria la muerte para su voz, y eso el lo sabe muy bien.... No por nada ha estudiado canto y ha entrenado su voz desde losa 5 años....

Esta cancion esta en ruso, su compositor es Vitas, pero Dimash convirtió la canción original e un opera 2 en un opera 5, pues subio 3 semitonos mas que la original, Esta fue la única vez que la canto, pues Vitas hizo un problema con el cover, SOS era en francés y pertenecía a una opera rock de los 70 que se llamaba Starmania, claro que Dimash la adapto a su manera. saludos desde Chile
