Just FYI you are referring to them by their surnames. Korean names are written surname first ,followed by given name. The choice to use an accordion at the beginning is in keeping with the old fashioned stereotype of french music.

Welcome back…so nice to see your unique reactions again. ❤Glad you and the family are feeling better now. This performance brings me to tears, no matter how many times I’ve experienced it and even though I know what to expect, it still gets me every time. Their arrangement for 4 voices is magic and so is the interpretation and the performance. Others have mentioned the names and line-up, but I’m glad you were able to make the necessary on-screen corrections of the names…thanks for the diligence. Their most recent performances in 2024 as a trio while the bass is doing his mandatory military service til May 2025, was the broadcast on 6th January their epic interpretation of Queen’s SHOW MUST GO ON preceded by Hijo De La Luna on an Immortal Songs episode named Kim Soo-Cheol & NEW FRIENDS where this legendary 67 year old guitarist invited Forestella as guests whom he’d not met or played with before. He leads in the performance of Queen’s song and is affectionately known as LITTLE GIANT and was being honoured for his life’s work in promoting Korean music. The next performance was in March on Immortal Songs but this time a contest episode singing the music of Kim Bum Soo ..a ballad A STORY SADDER THAN SADNESS. Then they performed LIVE at the KBS KTX anniversary celebration in APRIL a song called Chagall’s Dream originally tearfully debuted at their Forestella Festival in October last year and released as a music video on the day of Ko Woorim’s entry to the military 20th November 2023. The music video is worth reacting to. Hijo De La Luna is sung even more beautifully on the KTX stage. I love their original version with Woorim , and I equally love the trio version because of the rearrangement for 3 voices. It’s just as magical to me and it showcases the depth of their talent in adapting a much -loved cover of theirs to suit the temporary trio’s vocal prowess. So far left is the classically trained basso profundo, Ko Woorim, then Kang Hyung-ho (the countertenor/soprano rocker) then classically trained leggero tenor, Cho Mingyu and finally musical theater singer to the far right, Bae Doo-hoon, baritone/tenor. Thanks for your reaction to Forestella! This is a famous French song, Je suis malade. (I'm sick) The original singer is Serge Lama. However, Forestella sang this song as an homage for Lara Fabian's version. It notes in the lyrics with terms in feminine form (orpheline, heureuse). But Serge Lama posted his praises about this stage on his official SNS. (Twitter, IG, FB). Forestella released their Korean version of this song in their 3rd regular album: the Forestella. 눈물 속에 홀로 (Alone in Tears) has lyrics in Korean. Even the words in the lyrics were changed a lot from the original Je suis malade, you can feel the deep emotions and vibes of the original in it if you try to listen. One of the members of Forestella (Bae DooHoon) contributed to writing some lyrics in Korean as well.

I believe the first word in their name is their last name, then their first and middle names are sometimes written as one word (Woorim), two words (Ming Yu, or a hyphenated word (Hyung-ho).

The way these guys became a team is through a survival elimination competition (Phantom Singer) that was desgined to created a classical crossover quartet like ‘Il Divo”. They won season 2 of that show. They usually stand in this order (from left to right): Ko Woorim, Kang Hyungho, Cho Mingyu, Bae Doohoon Remember that in South Korea, the family name comes first. So their first names are Woorim, Hyungho, Mingyu, and Doohoon. They will tackle any genre, they take that ‘crossover’ moniker very seriously. Other songs I recommend: Their original songs “Save our Lives” and “Utopia” (they are the first two parts of a three part series they are doing. Watch them in that order). Amazing covers they do: Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, Legends Never Die, Lazenca Save us, Hijo de la Luna, Despacito, Shape of you, Time in a Bottle. For an extra treat, check out Kang Hyungho’s audition footage where he sings BOTH parts for Phantom of the Opera. And my all time favorite, Cho Mingyu singing Balada de la Trompeta. Bonjour de France. L'ajout de l'accordéon fait un peu " cliché" pour un classique de la chanson française ( on n'entend quasiment jamais cet instrument 😁) mais au niveau phonétique le troisième à intervenir a le meilleur accent et reste le plus compréhensible . L'ensemble reste néanmoins agréable pour une oreille francophone 😉
