It's not just listening to classical.... it's listening to RAY CHEN play classical!!!!

I think the audience did not necessarily react to the genre of music but rather the passion and musicality and skill of each performer. Ray would slay playing anything-here you see the crowd grow and be amazed. Thank you for this collaboration.

I love how karolina just plays straightaway and Ray feels the need to first tell everyone what he is going to play 😂

Personally, I prefer classical, but I think out of all the violinists, Karolyn’s really delivers pop music the best And out of all the classical musicians, Ray is one of my top favorites.

“You’re just some walk by violinist!???!”😂 When you scanned the audience his expression made me think that he knew who he was! It seemed to me that there was a larger crowd during the classical performance. Ray is just amazing. So is Karolina.

Ray is not only bringing pop and classical together, but is further stepping out of the comfort zone by doing live collabs! I can't wait to see what this will evolve into. Thanks for this creatively entertaining video! Good job!

I feel like when you listen to Ray Chen playing classical pieces, it's nothing you haven't heard before, even though it's amazing. I was, however, very impressed by his pop song playing. It was a lot more expressive than you usually hear from a busker. Man needed to remind us that he's a world-class soloist lol

good musicians can make you enjoy their music. Great musicians just grab you no matter what they play (even if the music genre is not your cup of tea). You have such a power.

That was fun to watch. I hope you publish the duets that you did with Karolina or give the videos to her since her sound cards were stolen. You showed a little bit of the duets but there was so much more and I think yours and Karolina's fans would love to see them.

Do people even realize, they are standing before the greatest violinist of our generation? Quite incredible, really. And of course brilliant and beautiful Karolina!

It doesn’t matter if it’s pop or classical. Beautiful is beautiful.

You can't play a vivladi four seasons and not expect some sort of crowd

I remember Ray commented about her in the prodigies' video, and now here they are together! This collab is marvellous! I loved her advices to Ray, like "don't be weird" hahahah

He gave her a masterclass on playing the Mendelssohn violin concerto. And she gave him a masterclass on performing pop violin music outdoors and interpretive dancing! I love their collaborations!

I personally prefer classical, but it is undeniable that she's got TONS of charisma and it's really hard not to like her. She could play like a pre-schooler and I think I still would like her, haha! I just like her energy as a person overall.

The classical music pieces Ray played were totally accessible and brilliantly played.

The whole concept of Classical and Pop music coming together is just delightful. Whatever the genre music, when it is respected and played well, it is such a beautiful thing - thank you to the amazing Ray Chen and the lovely Karolina for showing us true music. That was so wonderful, only wish I could have been there! That was a very special once-in-a lifetime performance - one for the memory to play over, and over again.

I mean, people are more tied to the pop music because they know the song. So I think it will draw people in. That being said, you and Karolina said it best. Your technique, her poise and command of the audience, bam!

I would think that Ray knows, and would hope most of his subscribers also know that this girl is classically trained in violin and ballet and has performed classical violin in Carnegie Hall.

I love classical music and pop music. What I love about Karolina, she has a beautiful soul and when she plays her violin with so much passion it touches you. She’s an inspiration to us you can accomplish everything in life. She’s my role model and inspiration. A true musician as Karolina has a divine spiritual power that connects to our souls through her music.

Such a great collab, beautiful performances by both, both are the very best human beings, kind and loveable and amazing in their genres

To see a master such as Ray Chen choose to invest time into visiting this young lady on her stage is both gracious and genius... I believe he recognizes she presents a passion for her music and performance that all maestros could learn from... Karolina, now 15 years old, isn't out there trying to compete... she welcomes Ray Chen to her world, now lets put some smiles on these faces... She recognizes he is one ot the top 1% violinist in the world... at the same time you can hear a confidence in her voice and performance very few at this age pocess... In my opinion she is one of the purest role models for young artist on RU-vid... Hard work, stands strong in her faith and the love of family...

You both have such a great stage presence which (along with nice pieces/songs and the matching skills) is what prevents the people from walking by; you just have to stop! That's one of the most amazing skills to accomplish 👏

As a classically trained musician myself, I have more overall respect for classic. I find enjoyment in hearing pop, and can appreciate it for what it is.

I would have stood there ALL DAY for any of Ray's performance. One NEVER sees the level of his virtuosity on the streets of LA.

Classical always touches to the soul and heart directly.

Lots of love to a guy who can put the seriousness of the classical music hall a little bit to one side and have fun busking with his amazing talent at the Santa Monic Promenade. That takes thinking way outside the box and it takes a lot of guts. I'm just delighted that Ray and Karolina are friends and performing together. We want more. Puh-lease!??!!

Karolina is also a brilliant classic violinist. She’s very humble and a perfectionist. She also performs and plays super difficult classical pieces by heart, no wonder pop is super easy to her, like for us to breathe. She practises classical music to high level, multiple hours daily. Like for dance, if you have a classical basis, you can be excellent at other genres.

You both are very talented and sound wonderful. Enjoyed your outdoor concert very much!

We know that Karolina plays classical, and just saw Ray play pop. What I would love to see is the two of them playing a mashup of both where they switch from one to the other mid-song. Some pop songs lend themselves to a classical riff between verses and vice-versa. I'm sure an audience would love it.

Wonderful performances with classical pieces as well, and what separates Karolina Protsenko from everyone is her willingness to do different things @ once: pop music, classical pieces, ballet, guitar, piano, and singing, and she still finds the time to go to school daily, while maintaining a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor, which makes her 1 of the best role models in the world.☺️👏❤️

I don't think there is a better or worse one either. What you notice about both of you is the passion with which you make music. People need such places of reflection.
