Yea, but its mostly there to try and get said gifted child to be more selfless, gain allies, you know because nerds are usually week, And to try and help those struggling well the teacher keeps the class flowing

Well, one benefit is that you learn best when you are able to teach someone else. But yeah, when overused, it's not helpful

Depends on the needs of the students and what is being taught.
