Thank you so much for posting! This is my first year having my own class, and my first day of school is tomorrow, and I am kinda freaking out (just a little). I have been watching you all throughout college, and I just want to thank you ❤❤
I don’t know if you still need help with this but to control your laptop on the board you need to plug it in with a USB that’s connected next to the HDMI on the board. Might be a bit funny with the Apple TV but I would recommend plugging the laptop straight to the board and plug the USB cable. I usually use promethean boards so I’m not an expert on yours but you should give it a go! Hope this makes sense and helps!
Love seeing how you set up the paper side of things for the school year! It somehow always seems like the hardest part for me to remember what I do year to year - I’ve started doing what you suggested with google drive, etc. last year. It made this year soooo much easier! I would also love to try the bee binders for next year - they look amazing!
We (high school team) were surprised with new smartboards after a short vacation. We had no real time to train on them. We were the test teachers last year. I love your class decor. I also use binders even in HS and have to push them to get started. Ill never go back to notebooks. Watching you prepare yours made me wonder if I should do that for my students. I think they would enjoy getting something like this and seeing how dedicated I am to being there for them. I'm getting classes that were labelled problematic. I'd add stickers and their quartly writing diary. Did you pay for them or is it from your district?
i never understood the concept of student numbers until recent years i remember a few my teachers having them in both elementary and middle school my number was always low because it seems almost all teachers numbered us alphabetically. I have a question for teachers here what grade do you think is to old for a classroom library? I will complete my degree in the spring and as i consider options for teaching I have considered teaching in the classroom as well as through online sources. I will teach middle school and/or high school most likely is that to old to have even a bookshelf maybe nothing fancy of books that my students can borrow from me or read when they are done with assignments. Especially since ill not be an ela teacher but a history teacher. I would love to share my love of reading with my students and encourage them to read as well. I know many schools have a school library, but some students have trouble finding books they enjoy or some students may have the same issue i had as a student that I would read my 2-book limit at a time books especially on weekends and holidays quickly than what am I going to read lol. Maybe even do a book trade a student wants likes a book I have so much that they bring me one of theres and we trade.
I also teach in Las Vegas. I wish there was an easy way to link my tablet to the newline to draw on the screen while wandering around but our sbt said it takes sooo much bandwidth
