Dawn, I have been offered a special ed Reading/Language Arts teaching position. I have been teaching for 10 years in regular ed but truthfully I have no idea what this position looks like. Can you give me some pointers that will help me make the best decision? I want these special students to have the best teacher possible that will teach to their strengths and work towards improving their weaknesses. I live in Texas so your imput will help.
Sorry for the late response. I didn't get a notification to your comment. I know that special ed is not for everyone but I love it. I teach different groups all day, some in their classroom and some I pull to my room for small group or 1:1 instruction. Sped takes much more organization than gen ed. I can't wait to hear your decision!
