I'm a secondary teacher in the UK, and looking at the size of US classrooms always amazes me. My classroom is probably half the size of yours and all piles of crap are the same, but I have half the space 🙂 You are amazing, I love how dedicated you are! xx

I feel like it has been forever since I have seen you! I loved your book tasting idea and steeling phrases to intrigue students of all ages! Love the classroom still and being real as well as honest! Love the personality you still have! It is real!!

I'm moving from elementary to secondary English next year, and I am so so excited! I'm hoping to end up teaching high school English, so I love watching videos like this!

I’m the English Dept Chair at our middle school and I chose the YA version of Born a Crime for our 7th grade Reading Intervention class. Kids absolutely loved it! My desk looks just like yours😂.

Oh I do love you Marie. Your honest chatting with us and your care for your students is as refreshing as ….our upcoming Canadian autumn 🍂 🍁 (it’s crazy cold outside so this was what popped into my head). What I mean to say is that your honesty and energy is such a lovely way to reflect on my own room and lessons after a week that has been as draining as this past week. I feel refreshed and ready to get at the prep and marking to ready for the week ahead having just watched your classroom setup. My classroom is nearly identical except I am no longer allowed the extra lighting!! Board policy on use of power in the classrooms!! It’s a shame because as winter approaches and we have such low light, the students and I loved this wonderful addition to the room. I’m retiring in November after having been a teacher since 1983. I’ve always directed my new teachers and student teachers to you. I will miss my teenager students, my teacher pals, and the outlet of creativity through language(s) [some Indigenous, Spanish, French, and English] but I know that I can come here to see what you’re up to. You have so many great ideas and your (caffeinated?) energy is such a delight to experience. I (might) offer up suggestions in this chat once I retire and have the time. You talking about cleaning the desk is exactly how I was at the end of our first semester. I did exactly what was mandatory, had zero time for extra work :)). You give me that boost of energy I really needed for our second semester.

How ironic I literally just stumbled onto your channel the other day and your podcast! Though I was so sad to see that you haven't take a break from filming/posting. Btw I am in my 2nd year of teaching and I teach 5th grade but I enjoy watching and learning from you!
