This is an excerpt from the March 18, 2022 episode of RN Breakfast News Australia with Patricia Karvelas. In this interview, Claudia hints at what may happen to Eloise when the show hits the fifth season--which is Eloise's season if the show continues to follow the books.

I'm worried the show will stop in season 4 (as they haven't stated to renew it to season 5 and further), I just want Eloise to have her own stand alone season, not joint up. My girl Claudia deserves to be the lead of a hit show. I'm praying hard fot that.

Although Bridgerton the TV series ending after just 4 seasons is certainly a possibility, it's highly unlikely. It is one of Netflix's top shows. It wouldn't be logical for them to kill it so early. As for Claudia becoming the lead of a hit show, I'm also hoping that happens. It's been quite a while since she was the lead star in a show. The last time was in 2015 when she played WPC Annie Taylor in WPC 56.

@@taddybear I would rather see season 5 or even 6 (as Gregory and Hyacinth are still very young) than Violet or the Queen's spin-off as what they've planned. She's really got the whole package to be a lead star. Oh god let it happen.

Chronologically Book 4, 5 and 6 happens simultaneously or around same time...so I would like it to be a three couple season to cover all three of their stories if the series is ending in Season 4...As Eloise is beloved heroine/character in both books and series, it would be lovely to see her as main story among the three...

@@swethas5335 I know. To me a Polin's stand alone season would be boring because they've been there the entire timeline. Other couples start and finish their stories in one season. But book 5 entirely takes place in Gloucestershire, book 4 in London, and book 6 in Scotland, it'll be weird to show 3 couples in 3 different places at the same time.

Didn’t they say they will stick with the plot in the novels? And based on Eloise and Theo’s last conversation… Theo would have to become an MP for the Bridgerton family to even contemplate the two entering a relationship.

I wonder if Netflix will extend to 8 seasons not knowing the audience draw they can capture (no the book fans aren’t enough to hit their “quota”), since few siblings are still in the backdrop, will world audience be interested to tune in for each of them. Eloise is the sibling that resonates with my friends and I so we do hope she has her own season, WITH Theo, like Claudia said, more involved in activism and why can’t we finally see a cross-class matrimony, it’s perfect for Eloise, the writers even wrote #nerdswoon on the script during table reading of the scene when Theo was about to kiss her, awww that’s what I’ve always imagined for this dear rock star

I've got a very strong feeling Eloise's turn will be coming in sooner than later. Viewers may not need to wait until season 5 for the series to focus on her. The ingredients are there already: Theo, Shonda Rhimes' statement that they will not follow the order of the books, and both Claudia's and Eloise's rising popularity.

I've never read the books. I was a little sad that Eloise isn't till season 5. BUT I actually enjoy both Benedict and Colin so I'm excited for their seasons. Although a big possibility they'll change the order anyway.

@@taddybear my guess is next season, if Shondaland does shuffle the order and we just had Anthony so it’s highly possible next one will be a female lead season - Eloise as Pen is considered to be part of Colin’s story, hope the announcement will not be too far into the future

@@taddybear I suppose they will not change the order.. Actually, according to the books Eloise is supposed to be with Sir Phillip who is already married to Miss Thompson.. I have not read the books but I know that it is a happy ending story... I also wanted to see more of Eloise and Theo... but that is sadly not the long term future of Eloise..

I definitely see a lot of myself in Eloise. I will shout throughout the house for my siblings or other family members with abandon, walk exceptionally funny, frequently have my nose in a book, and care deeply for women's rights. I joke with my own mama that, while I have Penelope's body type and flair for writing, I see myself as a combination of the two, really.

I highly doubt they will be endgame, it's gonna be like Anthony with his former lover in season 1 - the story might change but Eloise is endgame with Philip

@@jamaco5794 I think Shondaland is keeping their options open for now. With the way season 2 ended for Eloise, she can still end up with either Philip or Theo. If the series ends with season 4, she'll probably end up with Theo. If the series goes on until season 8, then there will be plenty of room to develop the Philoise story.

In the case of Eloise and Theo, I think this would be a rare time where show canon would be better than book canon. Philip is too proper for Eloise. She's very rebellious and stays that way, and even if Philip doesn't actively repress that side of her, I feel like it would be not only out of character but disappointing to watch Eloise settle for a life she's always been against. There's a lot more excitement with Theo. And it would be interesting to see how that would play out, given how we know how Lady Mary Sheffield was treated, but with a much more loving family like the Bridgertons, perhaps Eloise's life with Theo could be less ostracizing. Theo not only encourages her to be herself but challenges her naive and privileged outlook, which is kind of the point of who she is anyway. Eloise desires a life outside the ton but needs a reality check on what that means, because she's young and sheltered. Theo is the best match for her, intellectually. And cmon, the DRAMA 😍😍 that's what this show is about, isn't it?

I like Theo, but for me, drama-wise having a character be against something and then finding they could want it is also very dramatic. The same happened to Anthony. As for Phillip's character, he would''t actively repress her - - it wouldn't be love. Just my opinion.

I’m actually hoping to see the interactions between Eloise and Phillip in the show for the very same reason. I don’t think that being with Theo would really afford Eloise the freedoms she craves. She may not care for propriety, but Eloise is who she is because her lifestyle (being an aristocrat) allowed her the freedoms to pursue knowledge and other things that she may not be able to do if she were born poorer. But being with Phillip allows her the lifestyle and freedoms that she’s used to AND allows her to be herself. Even in the books, Phillip (as introvertedly awkward as he is) was in awe of Eloise’s loud and rebellious nature, so I am pretty excited to see that happen on screen.

I think it's very interesting. In season 5 Most people like Eloise in series because she is feminist and don't like marriage or high society that not present that in the book. If she fall in love, what kind of guy does she like?

Phillip Crane (his future husband) doesn't really have a title and when they get married, they live a long way out of town. Basically, Phillip and Eloise fall in love bc they're two nerds who hate society, and they obviously have some really romantic moments

Sir Phillip Crane is a lot like Eloise. They don’t love the high society life (unlike their older siblings). Phillip never intended to marry and wanted to become a botanist and the “fun uncle” to his brother’s kids, but since his dad and brother died, he had to inherit their role + Romney Hall. He only married Marina to do the “noble thing” and became a father to his bio nephew and niece (he doesn’t regret that, he loves them like they’re his own). So they fit together in the sense that they both were thrusted into a life they didn’t necessarily want.

Love the chemistry with Theo and Eloise. I'm pushing for the writers to keep them as a couple. Eloise has the personality that will rebel against the class (caste) system. Also, the writers can easily make Theo's back story and status change or inherit a publishing firm.

I read it and it was horrible, she married him just because she felt bad cuz even pen got married,(which is def not like her character in the show) and phillip married her just because his wife (who he raped) dead now and he need sb to have s*x and also he need a mother for his children which he neglected all the time. Tbh I love theo sm but she can marry anyone imo, except that rapist.

@@taddybearI think they’ll stay true to the books to be honest. The author of the series have a major role in the producing of the TV show. Not to mention, why introduce Phillip and Marina at all for the past 2 seasons if they aren’t going to play a major role in the series? I do think, however, that they’ll start building Phillip’s character a bit more in the next season so that he becomes more of a dynamic character. Fans of the show have only seen him as a mellow character at the moment, but book fans know that there’s more to him than meets the eye.
