Im from Asia and i really wanted to visit Claudia Sanders Dinner House after hearing Colonel Sanders story and try the real KFC chicken cuz KFC is one of my favorite tho i only tasted the todays/new era of KFC since im 18 but looking at those chicked those looks more tasty fr
The gravy also changed while i worked there mid 90's.. the prior version was darker, and we would add seasoned oil from the fryer as part of the recipe
Maybe they changed it due to some health issues or simply removed the oil as deep frying raw chicken and adding the oil would probably give someone salmonella
Bout won’t ain’t no damn salmonella surviving the deep fryer🤣🤣 I use animal fat to fry, but adding fat is what give your gravy that savory richness! Animal fats are best of course
Been a long time since I've been there, but I remember the beauty of the place; very impressive! Those chicken and dumplings looked delish, I love 'em, and that fried chicken is more my style too, thin breading. Bread pudding and cobblers are both my faves! Have to get the family together for a trip to Claudia Sanders! Good video, Barry, very interesting, thanks
I used to try to get 1 spoonful of each side on my plate at the buffet, but just couldn't when it was 19 sides before meats. Think it's a fewer sides now, but I still can't fit 1 spoonful on a plate. 😂 So now I do the family style like you had. They also have great hamburgers and steaks on menu (not available Sundays). Steaks tasted char-broiled. Delicious. Their yeast rolls are heavenly soft/good. Good to see the review! Thanks!
I started following you about 2yrs ago. I have enjoyed every one of your reviews. So keep up with your reviews and support of local restaurants. You are really awesome and your reviews great. I've become a big fan. Blessings and Love
I appreciate you following my channel. Thank you for reaching out with the kind words. It really means a lot. Sometimes I feel I’m wasting my time but then somebody like you reached out and let’s me know it’s all worthwhile.
Everything looks great, I wish I wasn't homeless and poor I'll be there Sunday... One day hopefully I can try that good cooking. Thanks for the review!!!
This is such a great review! The food looks so delicious! The chicken didn’t look like a fried dough ball and glad to know the gravy didn’t taste like wallpaper paste 😅 Thanks for the review!
Looks beautiful. We need this in the uk ❤ it’s like a southern American version of toby carvery and we love that heavily over here. I think it would be really successful
If you ever get to Michigan, we have a couple restaurants in Frakenmuth called either the Bavarian Inn or Zehnders. They are known for their chicken and also rift before those restaurants Frankenmuth has the largest Christmas store in America called Bronners!
We ate there about 4 months ago. Sunday buffet was plenty good but the stewed tomatoes was the hit. The chicken was ok. The carved beef was dry. The side dishes were the bomb.
I never heard of A Hot Brown so I wouldn’t know a good one from a terrible one. I would give it a try. Definitely regional food that typically isn’t served in western Pa. Glad you like hot sauce because I noticed that it’s Ranch Dressing on everything!!! I wonder if there’s a Ranch flavored ice cream 🍦? I absolutely dislike Ranch, sorry I don’t mean to upset the Rancher’s! ❤
@@goodallscountrykitchen If you know of any good Southern style restaurant in California, let me know! I will say we have a lot of great Asian and Mexican food.
they must francise this to Malaysia.................KFC taste never be the same like first appearance in 80s............we really need this restaurant concept in KL!!!!
Mr. Goodall what is a dark brown, I never heard of that dish! That creamed spinach looked good. Looks like the food served in grammar school back in the '60's. And no one beats Colonel Sanders fried chicken. Enjoy!!
Col. Sanders was the FIRST celebrity chef! A good friend of mine bought a Karmann Ghia that had belonged to his personal assistant, she often drove the Colonel around in it. Hard to picture the Colonel riding around in a powder-blue Karmann Ghia!
Now I'm really hungry! Does KFC deliver? I live in FL now and won't be going up north this year. But, next time I do, I will stop in for lunch. All looks freekin delicous!
Kentucky Fried Chicken ended when they went to KFC. Some things were changed and the food has never been as good since. Except for the coleslaw and the biscuits. But this looked fantastic!
I miss Johnies Fried Chicken, sorry to see these old school places go. Restaurants are either so corporate or somebody gets so Bunche’ that its not the good food that it should be.
I worked there in the late 80s. The original restaurant burned down in May 1999. Do a search online and the news story will come up and video of the fire. The things I saw working there I could tell would shock people. There is food on the menu today that wasn't sold back in the 1980s. Several food items have been added since.
Love your videos, your sense of humor, and the country food. I would like to hear a brief prayer before the meal. I can tell you are a Christian man, demonstrate your faith publicly and see what God does!
Yeah I am one of those people too, don’t serve me no breast 😂😂😂😂😂 I stop visiting a certain local Popeyes for half a year because they goofed and gave me a breast 😅 Just keep it thighs, legs and wings 😂😂😂😂😂 The food here look very good 👍🏾 I always heard that Claudia Sanders was more of the unfiltered version of Colonel Sanders or Kentucky Fried Chicken. The expanded options are cool. Appreciate this review 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you for reaching out. I wish I would have waited to do the review tomorrow for the Sunday buffet. I could have shown more entrees. But then again, chicken is the focus at this place.
@@goodallscountrykitchen Indeed the chicken 🐓 🐓🐓 is the key focus. Our great tradition of comfort/soul food 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Cool to know they do pork chops !!!! Those sides looked amazing too. Was there Mac and cheese on the menu ?
I don’t recall seeing Mac-n-cheese but can’t swear it’s not on the menu. I told my server to use her judgement and bring me the second round of sides. Sorry.
@@goodallscountrykitchen cool, we live in Simpsonville and haven’t made the venture yet. I do love my fried chicken but prefer it a lil spicy, ala Popeyes or Indi’s.
KFC would have been way more popular if they kept this recipe I haven’t had it but I can already tell it’s way better then there current mediocre ass chicken I would like to come to this place for better then mediocre.
There are restrictions from a lawsuit back in the 70’s between KFC and Col. Ssnders. That’s why they had to change the name of the restaurant from “Colonels Lady” to “Claudia Sanders”. They can’t use the Colonel’s name in any way. It’s word of mouth in the chicken recipe.
You are like me pal, I like thighs and legs, breadt my least fave, I like the 1st round of sides best, corporations ruined KFC, their chix pieces are the size of quail, their pot pie is the best thing they have now on the menu at the corp. KFC
