Maybe because France is next to Germany and it's like many many Taiwanese people learn Japanese language as their second language because we are close geographically and economically, Japan is a major power in Asia like Germany and France are major powers in European Union.
That's not a reason, Dominican Republic and Haiti are in the same island, and dominicans whose language is spanish, know nothing about french or creole that is the language of Haiti.
Because in Germany we have to learn 1 or 2 other languages. Everyone learns English and then (at most schools) you have to learn either French or Latin.

Claudia Schiffer parle très bien le français, les tops modèles des années 80-90 avaient une très forte personnalité, un caractère, un style, naturelle bref ... certaines ont été repérées naturellement et donc elles étaient pas refaites par la chirurgie plastique, certes, elles ont pris de la maturité mais leur beauté photogénique est intemporelle. What I do notice is that a lot of models from English speaking countries don't even put the effort to learn other important languages in fashion like French and Italian. Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Yasmin Lebon, Amber Valletta, Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour, Christy Turlington, Kristen McMenamy, Tyra Banks, Linda Evangelista, Shalom Harlow, Elle Macpherson etc are all monolingual.

@@Lollypop1226 No she doesn't. She admitted to Savannah Guthrie on the Today show that she doesn't speak Spanish, but wants to learn it, especially since her mother is Salvadoran. Helena Christensen is also half Hispanic like Christy, but with a Peruvian mom and Danish father, yet she does speak and understand some Spanish. I think native Anglophones just don't place an importance in learning a new language, since English is the lingua franca of the world. You can see this happening with others like Linda Evangelista and Valeria Mazza. They are both of Italian descent, yet only Valeria speaks Italian, aside from Spanish and English, while Linda speaks only English. A lot of the other non-Anglophone-born European models like Carla Bruni, Eva Herzigova, Karen Mulder, Nadja Auermann, Tatjana Patitz, Nadege du Bospertus, Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, etc, are fluent in multiple languages aside from their native tongue.
