Claudia Schiffer On Her Best ‘90s Moments | NET-A-PORTER 

Claudia always struck me as a humble, intelligent, disciplined, diligent, and pragmatic supermodel. I know, very stereotypical German qualities. Also, funny enough, she is a Virgo and those qualities are very Virgoish too. But hey, these are all compliments. She seems to have had a good foundation from the start. Her parents must have raised her well. She never let fame or money get in her head, despite being perhaps the most famous and lucrative supermodel of the 90s along with Cindy Crawford. She didn't have the fierce walk of Naomi, the chameleonic qualities of Linda, the silhouette of Yasmeen, or the exoticism of Helena, but she did not earn her supermodel status by just the mere fame of being the iconic blonde bombshell of the 90s. She worked hard and was a professional. I never heard of Claudia having drama like doing drugs, staying up all night clubbing, getting into fights and feuds (yes the Valeria Maaza story is totally bs). She seemed very grounded, and analytical. In her early days she was clumsy, awkward and stiff when posing and walking due to inexperience and just overall having a shy and introverted personality; however, with introversion, comes the gift of observation. To me, she always seemed like a very observant model. You can tell just by her knowledge and eloquence she demonstrates here, how much she was learning about the profession by simply observing rather than indulging the spotlight. I mean, if you ask some of the 90s models today...cough, cough...Naomi Campbell...about a particular designer's clothing and his/her contribution to fashion history...cough, cough...Dolce & Gabbana..., they will just give you very vague responses that really don't teach anything new. With Claudia, you feel like you learn something new. You feel like you relive the 90s fashion shows with the details she give you. Claudia may not have been a natural as a model. She had the look and physique, but her confidence and talents had to be developed through elaboration, like a true earth sign. Some models are born with that innate quality; that flame; that je ne sais quoi quality that makes them special. Those girls are destined to be great, yet, sadly, so many of them end up living a tragic life (Maria Callas, Janis Joplin, Whitney Houston, Gia Carangi, Selena to name a few). But, then, there are also some of the less gifted who work very hard to earn their respects. Whether it is the little things like sleeping early, showing up on time, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and schedule both during and outside of work, all that will add up to one's success and respect. Like the story of the tortoise and hare. Once you let vanity and laziness take over your natural talents, then you will surely lose to the humble and hardworking tortoise because good nature and hard work always prevails. That is why I have my greatest respects for Ms. Schiffer.

Today, models are so plane, kind of bitter and have no vibes or personality, 0 credibility, Claudia still has all, she's a real commercial model who projects joy and is collected, she's a real model unlike most girls these days who look and act like they don't even know where they are and die from eating disorders, drugs, etc.. a model should project success with credibility.
