Thanks David for that cute tribute to Lauri Peters. She was an actress who was loved because of her naturalness, her no airs, no false pride demeanor. I've learnt that she was in the stage production of The sound of music. As a fan, I was fortunate to see her in Cliff Richard's 'Summer Holiday', which I must have seen around 16 times, plus also 'Mr. Hobbs takes a vacation' in which she was paired with Fabian in this James Stewart-Maureen O'Hara starrer. If she was featured in many more movies, I am sure I would have enjoyed all of them. She really had a head full of brown hair.
Lauri was my neighbor and a sweet, wonderful friend in the late sixties when we were across-the-hall neighbors in the same building on Riverside Drive. She was also an accomplished flute player.
THANK YOU for posting this video though I found it 7 years later. Strange how things happen, my first real crush was Julie Andrews in Sound of Music, my second was Lauri Peters as May Blossom on Gunsmoke. Love the fact that both acted it their own versions of Sound Of Music. , after all these years I seem never to get tired watching it and have my on video of Gunsmoke's May Blossom Sure wish I could say thank you to Lauri today. Wish she had a page on Facebook or Personal website.
Loved you since Gunsmokes 1964 "Mayblossom Haggen", where you played the sweet, down-home Texas cousin promised to marry "Festus Haggen." Just when I thought I'd recovered from falling for you back then, once again in a Gunsmoke episode, you played "Allie" in "Take Her, She's Cheap”…and it started all over again - until this day. You’re wearing me out, Kiddo! But I do still love you -- as much as ever.😉 Doc
