Not in 1.6 unless you turn on legacy randomness in the advanced settings when creating your character.

If you’re on PlayStation this method is very inconsistent. There will be days you can gather 50-80 clay or days you’ll only gather 10. Sometimes the spots you’re supposed to hit don’t give you clay even though you follow the instructions to the tee. I’d suggest finding other methods as this one works sometimes.
