When my son was 15, he came to me and asked if he was Autistic. We talked and I showed him this documentary. He cried, threw his arms around my neck and said, "Thanks Mom. I love you." 💕
I surf everyday and can't get enough of it. I lose my mind when I'm unable to surf. Once you feel so passionate about surfing, you just can't even describe your love for it in words. fucking beautiful vibes. surf for life!!!! Never leave the ocean's side.
Wow these comments crack a smile on my face. I have Aspergers and Ive been obsessed with surfing for the past 2 years ago, since I started. I am now on the University of Central Florida Surf B team and I recently qualified to compete in the NSSA Eastern Championships April 6th! Do what makes you happy people!

I remember seeing clay about 16 years ago. His style was so raw and wild that I wanted that unchecked confidence too. Even though we are the same age, I really looked up to clay and still watch his videos for inspiration

He has nothing to prove...for when he competes he loses sight of what really is going on in the moment. When he is alone at one with it all he is at his very best. He is in a league of his own and does not need no ones verdict to be it so.
Getting paid to free surf and make videos is what he had to do with his situation, contests just got to involved for him. Everything with contests, interviews, managers yelling at you out in the water and the sponsors. Dont know what he's doing today, hope the best for him.

There was a video explaining why he was dropped (Basically the industry was not doing good and Quicksilver dropped alot of the people whether it was an excuse to thin the herd or they were actually not able to afford to pay). (Without the sponsor dollars, it's really hard to compete with all the travel and entry fees).
Swimming is one of my Favorite things I Can’t do Sports I’m also chronically I’ll so i can’t do sports but I Can Swim All day Outlasting my Brothers and Siblings 😂 I do feel more relaxed in water honestly lol 😂 . Most autistic people have something they love Not just people who have Asperger’s syndrome. Including people with More Severe autism they have certain things they like doing to in rituals each day Difficulty with Transitions going from one Thing to another for example Going from The house To Getting in the car to go To the grocery store. Or School. Busy places that Are over stimulating Crowds, lights , Smell’s Sight’s sounds from other things Cars , People, Ect busy traffic. It’s not easy for Many autistic people.

Competitive surfing not so great for him, competitive swimming he would have excelled - great swimmers physique, and it’s just him and his lane, can block out the stress with a routine. But free surfing .... there’s so much variation. He would have probably got bored with pool swimming.
