I met Clay last weekend at a BRAKES driving school. I don't recall ever meeting anyone as humble and sincere as Clay in my life. I have the greatest admiration for celebrities that are common people at heart. It's been over 20 years since i have been to an NHRA event, now I have a new reason to follow the sport. I also plan to start donating my time at the Memphis BRAKES school because I was so touched by Clay's story.
My thoughts......there are dozens of incredibly crazy, interesting, charismatic drivers and riders on the NHRA circuit. Heck, any of the Force ladies (of course), Leah, the Sarge, Antron of course....all people i'd love to get away from the track and spend a afternoon with. But, without a doubt, Clay would be my number 1 pick. I've met the man several times but don't know him. Still, when he won that national event, I cried too.
I had never heard about Clay's son. Clay used to be my favorite drag racer, years ago but I lost track of drag racing for many years. My heart goes out to Clay and his wife, and know their pain, as we have the loss of a son in common. You never get over that loss. You just learn to carry it with you.
I have always like Clay, but I had no idea that he'd lost a son in a tragic accident. I was always impressed by his demeanor and attitude, but my respect for him has skyrocketed now that I know his heartbreak and subsequent triumph! Clay, you are a true champion and I hope you continue to race and win. God bless you and your family.
Clay has to be the happiest guy on earth, never seen not smiling. I remember when he won on Father's Day after Dalton was killed ,it made me have tears.
Just met Clay through Brent and Kyle from PFI and Boosted Boiz, though having known of him before, I didn't realise that he had this chapter and after watching this I am heartbroken for him and his family...thank you.❤️
I've been fortunate to have met Clay many times through business. I can tell you that he is exactly the same guy in a business negotiation as the guy you see in this video. A class act if there ever was one.
Clay you are definitely the man brother I was so happy to finally get to meet you and get a picture with you at the Gatornationals this year was so cool 😎. What an amazing story you have and are living it to the fullest much love to you and the wifey ..
I'd not seen this before today. Very appropriate, Fathers Day, 2021. This had me really choked up, the gift of the chest protector pushed it over the top. Clay is a class act, I wish him, his family and his team nothing but win lights and Wally's.
I’ve been watching Clay Millican’s RU-vid Channel for some time. He is a wonderful and honorable competitor. I did not know that he lost a son in a tragic accident. Having two sons of my own, I cannot begin to imagine the pain that he must have endured. I Pray that God will comfort Clay and his family with the knowledge that their son is Resting in the Arms of Jesus.
If more people were like Clay Millican this World would be a better place!! This made me cry!! I couldn't imagine the pain of losing a Child!! Love you Clay!!
I'm amazed y'all glossed right over his IHRA national championship in 2001. I was pulling the team Werner trailer that day.. still have the t-shirt and pit pass for that?!!!!
Never met clay I hope too someday, he seems to be thee nicest guy. I've rooted for him for years and wish nothing for the best for him. The way he has takin Brent from pfi under his wing and their friendship is amazing two of the most positive people who could've givin up but didn't let rough parts in life stop their journey
We trust in our Lord Jesus Christ and He brings us thru our difficulties and gives us our victories - keep the faith brother Clay - we will cross the finish line together someday.
Almost got a thumbs until I saw the motors on fox. I don’t give Fox News or any of there affiliates thumbs up anymore since they can’t mention a certain individual “Soros” on any of there programs. It’s a shame. They have lots of good coverage n reporters and commentators but they are held back.
