After watching the read aloud "Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt" by Kate Messner with art by Christopher Silas Neal, the STARS artist will create a clay impression using leaves or flowers. Students have the option of painting their dry piece with an ink wash included in their kit, or a different option like spray painting or brushing acrylic paint on top.
Materials
Air dry clay
A marker or something to smooth/roll out the clay
leaves or flowers for pressing
ink wash or paint (optional)
