Yes, very helpful, 5 years since you posted, but now almost 2024, and I just bought a tumbler to help a friend clean up a huge pile very dirty coins that were saved over 30 years. Will use some of your techniques.

One thing I've changed is now i do nickels separate. Our nickels have such a high copper content if you have a lot they can turn your quarters and dimes pink. Not all the time but it can happen so better safe than sorry.

A little beach sand and water does about the same result. Good enough to roll them and give them to the bank❤

Sand does work pretty messy though. Now you can use countless combinations of things and have pretty good results. This is just my recipe of stuff I just normally have around the house. Hey but what ever works right. I used to roll and take to the bank. Now I use coinstar and take the amazon gift card option. Get all your money that way and as much as i shop on amazon it works out great for me.

I remember having my first dug pennies in the car door handle and gave a couple for coffee at the drive thru. He looked at me like, "what the hell is this" ?

Anytime i hope the video helped you out a little on how its done. I just trow all my clad in a jar for a rainy day literally lol. If it rains on my day off and i can't go detecting its a good day to tumble and roll some clad haha.

Hmm I have had quarters and dimes get a green tint, but normally only if I don't let them fully dry after.
