Never get a vacuum that requires a sales man to go door to door to sell. Kirby sucks, but not like it should . Great vid though keep them coming .

WOW! Great tutorial on cleaning your wing. You got to keep the Great Pumpkin clean Charlie Brown. I got the use of the baby socks, good idea. This is one of those videos every paramotorist needs to watch, and you don't see too many of them out there. Thanks brother!

I am the one, thank you. Since I log a lot more hours kiting than flying this is a really good thing to do. You also get a good close look at the fabric, and seams and knots etc.

I had gotten a new or actually used but new to me Ozone Buzz and had it open in my office inspecting the lines and fabric when I hear the cat scratching and see a river of pee coming around the leading edge towards me! No, the cats still alive, but I grabbed the paper towels for a quick soak up, then outside with it and pull the trash can I use for bird seed out and empty it and fill with water and Tide. It took 2 washes to get the smell out by hand tumbling that now heavy as hello wing in that can! The first wash the water was pretty brown and yep smelled like a cat had peed on it!! The second wash the water was clean and then the rince which I did first as it was laying on the lawn then the second rinse as it as it was hanging on the clothesline with the hose and the leading edge down but pointing towards the wind so it opened the cells and I finished my inspection cat pee smell free! I'm glad it was breezy as it didn't take long to dry and she got folded up to go kiting the next day all bright orange, red and blue and crispy, smelling like Tide! Keep cats away from nylon sheeting as it's like a magnet to them! Blue Sky's and Safe Journeys!

Yikes!!! I'm glad that worked out as well as it did for ya. I've never done the wing washing video that I'd thought of doing, but I probably should. Then again, mine involved water only and 0% cat pee too. That cat is lucky and undoubtedly used up a life or two on that. ~8^) WOW!

Yeah she used a few of them that day! Have fun as the wing does get heavy when washing it! Don't cut the grass for a few days before you wash it and lay it out as it will stick like glue to it and be sure the clothes line is as taught as you can get it or it'll sag and drag the wing on the ground!

Would a hose and some woolite be ok for a really dirty one soak risers rinse dry in shade?
@NCPPGpilot

I never got around to making the video. But I hang it up upside down above a 40' tarp outside & just use the hose and a little rubbing to clean it. I let it air dry for the most part & then go kite it a bit to finish drying before packing it up. I got the Charger in really clean condition so I haven't needed to do it yet.

@@NCPPGpilot Very cool,I been looking into it a bit lately,my wing is pretty clean except for the tips...always launched and landed on mainly grass never had her at the beach,dont really see the need to beach fly,heard its harsh on gear.

I'm with ya there. BoField (the one I said must be like the surface of Mars) is the only 'dirty' place I've flown from and don't care for it much now that it's gotten worse. Though I launched from there a few days ago to remind me why I don't wanna launch from there. ~8^) I'd be kewl with some beach flying. But I wanna launch from an inland field and fly there and back. No interest in setting down because of all the nassy stuff that can happen to gear.

I like the vacuum video. Washing? Maybe keep it to spot cleaning (very carefully) of an area that lands in the poop.
@NCPPGpilot
@NCPPGpilot 7 лет назад
...and then of course, the dry fabric begins to wick the now said diluted poop. Which then requires yet more spot cleaning but alas, the dryer fabric again wicks this double diluted poop, etc, etc... Until we have a mostly damp wing with only a slight hint of poop. ~8^) P.S. Seriously though, you wouldn't believe all the brown water that rolled off my wing when I washed it. By washing, I mean just plain water. Once it dried, the fabric glistened rather then the dull red-n-orange from before, and the white was actually white. Glad I did it.

"Oh, I Hope Not" The coated/impregnated fabric tends to keep the dirt on the surface. It can be fairly delicate stuff so you don't want to do anything that can affect that treatment. Paraglider/paramotor fabric looks heavier than anything used for skydiving, still can't hurt to be careful with it.

Absolutely. We agree on that for sure. Something else I'm sure we can agree upon...there's a really good reason that I'm not a stand up comedian...lol I'll have to work on my delivery. But first, I'm gonna fly!

Priorities. Cleaning out the Wing is for time when you can't do anything else with it. Cleaning out the Bumholes after use - the dirty underside of flying....
