Tile shower installer by trade here. . . Squeegee your shower after each use. And not just the glass- walls and floor too. Grimy and soapy water after a shower drying on your tile and glass equals residue that builds up. A squeegee after every use cuts down on cleaning time :)
What about textured tile? Will a squeegee work on those as well? I just had my master bathroom shower and guest bathroom shower remodel with textured tiles and brand new glass doors for 18K! I’m absolutely needing any and all advice on cleaning correctly
Vinegar works because it's an acid. Dish soap is a base. Combining them makes them both less effective. You'd get better results with one or the other alone
@@Iron678Maiden yeeeeah. Someone thought "hey these things both clean let's combine them" and then suggested others do it and now it's everywhere. It's not the best option though, either will work better on their own.
I heard a good hack is to put rain X on the shower door. That way the water beads up. I don't have a glass shower door, so I haven't tried it, but the hack sounds genius so I thought I'd pass it along!
Acetone (nail polish remover) gets out ink. You can also try rubbing alcohol which breaks down paint but it takes time. I had a white sweater saved by rubbing alcohol.
You could have just gotten acetone from Home Depot or bought nail polish remover. Also, once you get it cleaned up you might want to seal the stone to prevent future stains.
I get stains out of stone with essential oils - any scent. No idea why it works but a couple drops right on the stone and let it sit for a couple minutes and wipe away 😊
2 oz white distilled ginger, 4 drops of dawn dish soap, 28 oz of water, and up to 10 drops of your favorite essential oil makes THE BEST homemade cleaner for glass. Mirrors, windows, counters, showers, stove tips, stainless steel… it’s multipurpose and natural. The pink stuff is a soft abrasive which can power through some tough stains ESPECIALLY with a magic eraser (that’s how I clean my tubs) but I would refrain from acetone because it’s SUPER harsh and can eat at any finish you have. So can a soft abrasive, but you have WAY more control. For the purple stains, I’d start first with the vinegar mixture and some baking soda (make a paste with the two, and come back to scrub it 10 minutes later). If that doesn’t work, I’d try a microfiber cloth with the pink stuff, and if that doesn’t work, I’d go in with the pink stuff and a magic eraser. I probably wouldn’t put acetone on my stone, but I’m conservative like that. I hope this helps
For cleaning stains from colored shampoos or hair dye, I have a really weird suggestion: sunscreen. Spray (aerosol) sunscreen usually has a fairly high alcohol content, and alcohol is a great dye-lifter. Every time I dye my hair I have some on hand to immediately address any accidents that occur on any surfaces, works like a dream.
make a paste of hydrogene peroxide and baking soda, a bit runnier than mashed potatoes, put it on my stone window sills to remove the rings flower pots leave on them, wait some 20-30 minutes and scrub away with a mild brush. Works great. Occasionally I might need to repeat to remove stubborn marks.
magic erasers get all my semi-permanent colors out of my laminate tub and porcelain sink. definitely try the magic erasers from aldi too, they’re so sturdy and thick and literally i can use 1 for my whole house
I detest those round brush scrubbers. I just tossed mine as one has to push the top to get a mini drop of soap out and its impossible to hold the sucker and push top to get soap out
I just had to scrub off all my purple shampoo from my shower, daily shower cleaner and a utility brush did the job but not sure what kind of surface you have!
For those who say to squeegee the shower and tub after EVERY USE..??? TBH that sounds horrible 😆 I’ve heard this before but it just seems sooo impractical. I shower in the morning before anyone else, then my kids do theirs. I can’t count on little ones squeegeeing after they’re done…so by the time their done and out of the shower I’m already in my work uniform…which means I can’t do it either. So…I just use my cleaners once a week to clean the showers. I’ve never had a problem with grime or gunk per se. We do have hard water in our area (doesn’t everyone tho 😂) But unless I skip a week of cleaning the tub and shower I don’t really notice it much. Anyways my point is who honestly has time to squeegee the whole shower, doors sides and bottom…especially if you work, have kids or a husband 😊.
Nail remover liquid will get rid of the purple stains, glue or tree sap. Dont mix soap and vinegar your cutting the full effect on it. Just us dawn power soap thing spray…
Too many toxic chemicals, ladies. Educate and research what health effects are inevitable with the use of these products/chemicals. Asthma, breast cancers, thyroid cancers. Ladies, please. 😢
I think her glass cleaning hack is putting the microfiber cloth on the flat mop so she doesn't need to bend and is able to reach the top. The only product she used was foaming glass cleaner.
Use Rain-X...co-worker gave me this cleaning gem. Clean with Dawn dish soap rinse well, then spritz on Rain-X, wipe dry, it will sheet off water, wipe dry after shower. Good for 7-20 days. Redo process.
I keep a bottle of dawn powerwash in the shower with that same long scrubber and while I'm showering I do a quick scrub while I'm conditioning. I have a small dish scrubber in there for the small areas the big scrubber can't get to
@@elhimmelstein1913the ones that have blue dye are more toxic, same as the scented ones as scents are made with synthetic chemicals (unregulated) and Dawn is made from petrochemicals. If you use that in the shower, you’re breathing the fumes & exposing yourself to petrochemicals. I would not do it. 😮
Does anyone actually shop at Walmart or Target. I always hear people say they're waiting for Amazon to deliver something so basic they can get from their local convenience store or grocery store.
They are still scared to be around people. I refuse to use that company. They treat their employees like crap. I also refuse to pay for shipping. Even if it was free shipping. I like picking out my own stuff anyway.
Will over time reduce your lung capacity. Do you smoke? 😢you will feel like a smoker, eventually. Use hydrogen peroxide, it’s safer. No bleach in the home, un necessary.
