My sensor was sooo dirty, so this really helped! Did all the steps but I had to use the wet way two times to remove all the specks. But it did the trick! Awesome tutorial!

I think the best thing about this video is the reassurance. As a newbie Sony A7iii user I'm super nervous about cleaning the sensor for the very first time. Thank you! Also, any tips on why my Sony has filled up with dust like a hoover? I have swapped the lens once in the past year and it lives in a camera bag in fairly benign conditions - like me, it doesn't get out much. I can only guess the Sony FE 4/24 - 105 G OSS lens has poor environmental sealing? :-(

I have this lens and I have the same problem, I think you are right that it has poor environmental sealing, I get dust inside all the time. Very frustrating. Usually a blower deals with it but I currently have a bunch of stubborn spots that won't budge.

After running the automatic sensor cleaning process, should we leave the camera on while using the swabs? Or will the sensor stay locked if we turn the camera off?

I think you left out a step... and that is to look for dust or smudges on your lens - inside and out great video

No, the solution drys quickly and the swab is only damp, not soaked

If you apply pressure that will damage sensor right? Can we use cotton to clean the sensor?

Avoid applying pressure, I would only use the recommended swab and not cotton or anything else

I have sony a1 body and when I clean the sensor I turn the cleaning mode on, but when cleaning it with wet swab, the image sensor sometimes shifts and even once it got pressed .. is this normal? Would it affect the image sensor?

normal yes...no it wont unless you move it so far or use too much force...sensor is suspended and "floating" and also have pretty crazy amount of play....if you done cleaning, off/on camera, take some shots and no error on the lcd all good...don't worry be happy :)

You may want to try all the steps again! Otherwise it’s possible that it’s not debris but instead your sensor has a scratch

Just bought the swabs and solution, ran a pass down and back. Appears to be squeaky clean and has solved my issue, but ill know next time i shoot rollers

Uhm...leave the camera switched on (after it completes its vibration) while cleaning the sensor with the stick thing? Or the camera can be switched off after the vibration? The "floating" sensor is locked when the camera is switched off or on? I own a mirrorless camera, Canon M50, for two years, but only today that I learnt that its sensor is actually being suspended! I have not touched the sensor. But I did use a vacuum cleaner on it. Thankfully the sensor did not get sucked out! Hahahahahah!

On the Sony you leave it on, when you activate cleaning mode it engages the sensor lock. I'm not sure with a Canon

@@benjohnsoncreative Hmm. Canon one or ones seem to already 'naturally' locked without doing anything. At least my M50 is. I got worried knowing that mirrorless sensor actually is suspended. No amount of Internet search answers the question.

Yeah, it can be on, because the cleaning mode is active and that’s what keeps the sensor locked in place and not jiggly

I cleaned it with a soft cloth normally used to clean glasses but it was a bran new one, then i saw ur video, can it get damaged?

I wouldn't wipe it, even with a new cloth. If there is dust, dirt or hair on your sensor and you wipe it it could possibly scratch the sensor.

sony recommend ON and has mode for cleaning so it lockup sensor IBIS (stabilisation) movement...but on/off just dont use too much presure with swab in any case...be gentle and all will be fine

Bought the kit, tried cleaning the sensor on my a7iii and after using the swab it created more spots on the camera ? Also the eclipse fluid and swab leaves fluid on the sensor what do u do ? I tried to have the camera do the self cleaning after I did the cleaning to shake the fluid off sensor but still no luck, I have a bunch of spots now when it was just 1 before I did this and now they are everywhere. Any recommendations? There’s not a professional place that cleans sensors where I live and Sony wants $500 to do it !?!
