@@aisyalhelmy289 they aren’t dirty or filthy, they are mental ill, overwhelmed and needs some help. Have some compassion for people.

It sounds like their parents, children or siblings that shared with them died and it caused serious trauma. Depression and trauma often do cause hoarding or people to completely neglect themselves and a property, particularly in older people.

i think a lot of people get confused with messy and dirty. Im sure they were depressed but at some point you can't just blame it ALL on depression. When i was gonna kill myself, i just tried to not make a mess and move stuff around, i would get up and go back to bed. It never became like this and of course it depends on the person but c'mon....

I suspect the poor woman needed a huge amount of care in a time of extreme vulnerability. She wasn't just a bit untidy, she'd lost sight of everything. Compassion is what gets you through that kind of job, not judgement. Yvonne and Angela are amazing.

As someone with OCD definitely my worst nightmare. My room is not clean it is messy but NOTHING like that. It is just normal messy.

As someone with ocd I would have a mental breakdown. I clean my house every single day, I even have to scrub my wood floors with a tooth brush to be satisfied

I do have OCD I recently have been diagnosed but this is 100% my worst nightmare I would have a panic attack if I lived in that

It's both. If I ever bought this house, I'll definately clean it myself and work hard to make it spotless and when I'm done, I'll take a deep breath and appreciate myself for making this house clean and tidy. But on the other hand, it'll a nightmare aswell, so much trash in one area, specially if it's my living space, will be horrendous.

Bed's a luxury here in my country. If you have a bed, people will assume you live in a upper middle class family or a rich family. I'm happy to have a bed of my own though not rich, I'm still sad that people find something I thought was normal a luxury and a sign of status

But there are masks like N95 that are better at blocking odour. Also, they can rub vicks or an essential oil under the nose before putting on the mask to reduce the smell. I’m a dental assistant and that’s what I do. Enduring the smell trapped in the mask is better than suffering the consequences of dust and bacterial exposure. On that topic, they should also be wearing eye protection.

Well without masks, they smell is guaranteed to be smelt anyways

I understand what the replies are telling me now. Also I kinda understand how the person who hoarded all this feels now... (let's not go into that subject 😅) it's most probably some form of depression or an attachment issue and I hope the person gets the help they need.
