Very cool, some pretty stuff. I do want to add in for the viewers the AAA rule, which you did, but didn't mention, Always Add Acid. AAA to water, not the other way around. If you pour water into acid, it can splash, and may also boil and splatter depending on the acid type. This is not fun.

Thanks for watching, I pinned your comment because it’s all very true and good info. I originally mentioned it before the soak but I cut it out cause my Texan accent was so bad I couldn’t understand what I was saying lol 🤣.

Dude yes, cleaning rocks with acid is just as fun as cutting them in a sense. It’s exposing things you couldn’t see before, and dude that was just cool! I like the choice of rocks brother. And the results. What I like most is the “doin it”. You’re exploring and learning and sharing that experience with everyone. And like everything we learn or witness being exposed with rocks, it just drives our curiosity!!!!! Love watching you experience that Kurt!!

Thanks bro, an your right about being just as fun as cutting. This was the second batch because the first batch of Laguna Lace I was cleaning with acid I forgot to hit the record button so that means I was talking to my self for 9 mins 🤣🤦‍♂️. Definitely made sure I was recoding this time around. Part of learning is definitely trying things out and experiencing it. Thanks for watching bro. Rock on 🤘

They all look better. You now have to put some of them back in and go to sleep. One or two may take more than a day. Your doing a great job. I like the first one, but any jasper combinations I like. Jaspers are my friends. Keep the goodness coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy. 😷⚒

Definitely took about 30 hours for those two to fully soak. Will be cutting these all up soon. Thanks for watching and safe travels bud 🤘

Wow! That worked really well on most of them! And they are beautiful! Thank you for the tutorial! Your tutorial and explanation before and after you soaked them, was really well. Ive seen so many videos lately, about cleaning pet wood, and other rocks lately, and comparing it to iron out, vinegar, and muriatic, and they got no result. But its because they were trying to remove the wrong type of thing with each. So thank you. Great results and i agree that you should re-soak those ones that didnt get fully removed, overnight. And hell yes you need a cutting video of those beauties! my favorite was the little banded agate, but its not done bathing yet! Great video! Awesome explanation of your methods, and great results! Rock on Kurt!

@RockHoundingAdventures 2 года назад
Thanks for your comment, Ive noticed that too with Luther videos lately. I plan on doing similar videos with vinegar and citric acid. I’ll definitely be doing a cutting video of these in the near future, the weather is starting to warm back up so I can cut em. The little Laguna lace one is my favorite and will be making a free form with that one. 🤘

Such a small world...I found a bunch of pieces of that "bangs canyon agate" in bangs canyon. They might be called red botryoidal agate/jasper/chalcedony. Still waiting to get more answers on my Facebook rockhounding groups. I was curious how to clean them without destroying them. I was led to muriatic acid. Then I google searched how to use the acid to clean agate and your video was the first to come up. Then I was shocked to see the same material I'm trying to clean from the same location! I'm in G.J. thanks for the info. I'll be soaking mine tomorrow!

That’s such a funny story..lol. Hope this video helps. I’ve tried figuring out if there was a specific name for these since they look quite different then most agates found in the area. If you find out please let me know. You may try checking out the Gem and Minerals Club there in Grand Junction.

Thank you so much for the video and information! Will the acid damage agates or Jasper at all?
@RockHoundingAdventures
@RockHoundingAdventures 2 года назад
It will if you don’t add water and just use straight Muriatic acid, it also depends on what other minerals are with the agate or jasper. When diluted with water the agates/ jaspers clean up real nice.

@RockHoundingAdventures

Don’t use acid on opals, I’d use a water pick or water dental flosser. The high pressure water should help remove the clay and leave the opals unharmed

Sorry if I didn’t include that part. When your done with the acid water you want to add baking soda to denaturalize the acid then you can pour it out outside after about 10 mins.

Hey bud. Not sure how far this was, or you are, into your channel, but good info. One thing though incase ya didn't notice, but ypu said "uh" or "umm" I believe it was for a grand total of 406,892 times, and at one point, you literally got 10 out, in under 12 seconds. Lmao Just having a go at ya buddy. Just remember this when speaking. ~ Filler words only muddy the water and clutter everything, as well as makes one sound unsure of what they say and unsure of themselves.~ If you don't have the sentence set to release, just pause and let the silence have its place. Silence is always better than filler words. Good luck. Sincerely, your new sub that probably looks like an a$$hole
