Alright, I need to ask an important question, Doug. I know most caps in your collection include team logos from the NBA and MLB, but are you a fan of any of the teams in any of these leagues? I know that's not what this channel is based on, but I just need to know.
Mostly a local flavor for me, but I pull for a couple of other teams for various reasons... MLB: Tigers, Rays, Pirates and NBA: Pistons, Grizzlies, Bucks - but I'm not crazy obsessed with any of them. Thanks for the question
I was just watching your video on reshaping the crown of a fitted from a couple years back and you mentioned that you could stuff the sweatband of the cap to make it fit better, in response to another person who asked for a shrinking tip. What would you recommend placing in the sweatband to do so? Tissues or paper?

@@dreinthe616 Thanks Doug. I'll definitely be stuffing the back for the time being. Once my hair grows out a bit more I think 7 1/4 will fit fine. 7 1/8 is too tight.
Great video as always! Now, I have a question about something you probably are familiar with. Fading of black caps. I have two black caps from New Era and noticed that they both relatively quickly loose the deep blacks and tend to develop a reddish tint (due to exposure to sunlight, I believe). Do you combat this issue? If so, how? This is not a topic easy to find info about. I'd love to hear your thoughts, Doug.
I've never actually tried to deal with that... usually it is the UV light that degrades any colored fibers or plastics. With some plastics there are UV stabilizers added to slow the progression of color changes, not sure about textiles. Oddly enough, I believe New Era released a collection of faded black 59Fifty caps in 2021, showing the fade from the top of the crown down. Thanks for the question.
@@dreinthe616 Yeah, remember that particular collection with faded color caps...and, remember thinking that collection will (definitely) not end up in my basket, haha. Well, I had to ask, Doug. The fact that you recognized the issue did at least comfort me. When I noticed the fading, and the red tint, after a few months on a new, black on black Yankees cap, I purchased a similar/the same design cap once more and just for the sake of science (haha) I never used the latest one in sunny weather, but the fade found its way into the fabric sure enough, only it took a little bit longer than the first cap (which had been used in mostly sunny weather). After that, I came to accept that it is what it is. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, really appreciate it! Keep up the great work!!!
